I finished up my ball joints/u-joints and steering upgrade but left the old Pitman arm on. I'm going to swap it but had a question first. I've got a Snapon puller but I couldn't get it in position with the sway bar on so I'll have to remove it.

I've never pulled one before but there are tons of threads on that. My question is this - will the new arm have to be pressed on? tapped on with a hammer? or does the nut move it into position? or does it just slide right on?

Will the updated linkage work with the old style pitman arm? Even if it's just to drive it to the dealer for them to put it on and do an alignment? Shadrach

Yes, I drove mine for a few days with the old arm. There are some threads here that say you don't 'have' to swap the arm but the angle is noticeably different (not saying extreme, but certainly noticeable). I actually got mine done at the alignment shop. They didn't get to my vehicle the day I left it with them so they offered to put it on for free to compensate for my time. Didn't get to use that high dollar snap-on pitman arm puller I bought but oh well. :)
