Trotta's Pizza

worlds' best pizza about 10 years ago. The three brothers that ran it got into several squabbles about the finances and they went belly up... Nothing since has compared. :(

Near my stompin grounds (New Joisey:D ) we have

>Federeci's in Howell. Very thin crust!!

>Sawmill in Sleezeside er ah I mean Seaside heights. $2. 00 will get you a very big very thin slice, and a soda.

>Linas in Jackson. I havent been here in a while, but the old man made an awesome pie.

>Rizzo's on Rt35 in Oakhurst. Excellent. Friday is . 75 a slice!!

>Lido's in Lodi. Very thin crust!!

I used to go to Cuzzo's in Pt Pleasant until it burnt down. :(

I weigh in with authority being a greaseball Sicilian from NY- ANYWHERE in NY especially Rays downtown- noone else gets it right- I did have some great stuff in Sigonella Sicily at a place called MAMA ILLIOs when I transited through there in Navy years ago-MAMA LOMBARDOS in Holbrook NY out on the Island also rocks too numerous to list all great places- key to true Neaopilitan pizza is crisp thin crust with not too much cheese or sauce- Sicilian style pizza is thicker and square but also is restrained on the toppings- traditional toppings are more likely to be cheese, basil, olive oil, rosemary and some meats or anchovies-in Naples the pizza will be from a wood fired oven and smaller in size- I am tempted to run over some Dominoes trucks with Big Green because true pizza is so much better.

I'm going to get flamed for this one....

I LOVE Dominoes ultimate deep dish with Canadian bacon, and breakfast bacon. :D

I am sure your gin to say that is crud but oh well, I don't need a flame suit, I got thick skin.

Mama Rosa's in Rochester, New York, was my favorite. No idea if it's still there. It was within walking distance of the dorms at Rochester Institute of Technology. My 4 years in New York gave me a BIG appetite for all kinds of Italian food... .

I believe the original Chicago's pizza is Pizzaria Uno. In fact, there's two of them about a block apart downtown. You can see one from the other. Good luck trying to park down there, though. #@$%! #@$%!

Sicily Pizza on the Scarsdale in Houston.

The large weighs 8lbs, it's 20 inches in diameter, and is over an inch thick. And it's a thin crust pizza. Lots of stuff, and lots of cheese. :)

Barry's in the Galleria area (Houston) ain't bad. Gitch- I've never tried Sicily's- how 'bout bringing some to the next meet? :D

Capri's in Doylestown, PA. Owners and everyone that works there is just off the boat. Absolutely the best and calzone to die for. :D :D :D

Fellas,,,,, hands down , the best pie I ever had is my mon's home made Sicilian pizza. Yep, you guessed it,, she's Sicilian and was taught by her mon in all of the "old" ways. I've always been very gratefull that I had her cooking while I was growing up. She's still with us and I just had one of those great pies last week!:D

I agree with mimprevento

Mama lambardi's in Holbrook is awesome. I used to run the Dominos's just a block away and used to get take out from Moma's all the time. I used to be able to make a good pie at Domino's when we were allowed to have a real pizza oven, but now they have to use conveyer ovens and they suck! All time best? Rosa's pizza in Queens.
