Does anybody know the answer to this riddle? I have a Pioneer full size Chrysler/GM dash opening CD player. It was previously working great in my 2000 truck, which was fractory equipped with the standard AM/FM cassette. I put it in my new truck, which comes with the CD player and Infinity speaker system, and the unit will play a CD fine, but I get no sound. The harness is the same as my 2000 and plugged right in just like before, but now no sound. I started wondering if it has anything to do with the seperate amplifiers in the doors? The Pioneer unit is 22w X 4 RMS. Is it conflicting somehow with the factory amps? If it makes any difference, the Pioneer has a seperate subwoofer preamp out with it's own selectable crossover built in (which is the only reason I'm hooking it up in the first place, I just want to add my amp and subwoofers the the existing door speakers. ) Yes I am aware I could do it with the speaker level inputs on the amp and buy a seperate crossover, but I would really like to just rig it up the way I had it before. Thanks for any ideas you might have.

I would check your harness to this pdf wiring diagram.

I believe that the G (white) wire needs to be hooked to the auxilary power from your new radio, maybe power antenna wire (same wire that tells the sub amp to turn on). This will tell the Infinity amps to turn on when the radio is on (I think).

Hope that helps, I didn't keep any of the Infinity speakers so I don't know for sure.

Thanks guys, it was exactly what nwinters suggested. I was using the power antenna wire to just trigger the amp for my subs, when I really needed to split it in two to also tell the Infinity amps to turn on. Incidentally it was crutchfield that told me that this morning (I bought the stereo and harness from them).

arcticat, I have the same deck and I just finished the complete change over ffrom facotry to aftermarket. I have 6x9's in the front and a componet system in the rear and seperate subwoofer. I sounds just incredible, I would be glad to chat with you about it if you want to e-mail me and we can talk, Dave:p

Sweet! I always wanted to do a nice component system. I have to allocate funds to the most important area first though, and that means engine BOMBs. I'm happy with the way things sound now that the crossover settings and gain are all dialed in. I just barely had room enough under the rear seat for my amp and (2) Bazooka bass tubes. Rock on!
