OK, I am continually reminded in Bills posts of how much support we the TDR members recieve from Bill, he has a wide base of knowledge and experience and is always willing to help us, Bill always is available in times of need and I am asking the members of the TDR to post here in support of Bill coming back to the TDR. If you are curious as to why Bill has left us it is all here, lets keep this post for supporting the return of illflem and if you wish to post about the ordeal leading up to Bill leaving us post it on the link below.

My support for Bill is where ever he finds happiness. No one in his right mind should pay to be insulted the way he was on this site. Forum guidelines were written to prevent this type of thing from happening. The rules weren't enforced. Unfortunately, the ones we want to keep the most are the ones who leave to seek out a better place to talk trucks or "other" topics.

I remember when the "Cummins list" was the only Dodge Diesel forum. Then a member started a website and business happened so he now has his own site of another name while the TDR grew into what it is today. The administrator of the Cummins list doesn't allow any "other" topics to be discussed on his Cummins list. The reason he states is that it will eventually degrade the integrity of the forum to the point that the forum will be shut down. Trouble makers will stay while good people move on to more friendly atmospheres. It's a slippery downhill ride.

I hope Bill finds some good people to share his wealth of knowledge with. I have a feeling some good people from this site will follow.

Have you ever notice that when code enforcement stops in a neighborhood, good people start moving away and trouble starts moving in until the neighborhood is rundown and gone to he!!?

As a fairly recent newcomer to the TDR I noticed early on your commanding knowledge of many things. I have learned so much from so many different folks on these pages that I really can't remember who to attribute what bit of wisdom to. But if I had to list those TDR'ers who I was impressed with and respected you would be in the top echelon.



With nearly 18,000 members and hard telling how many thousand non-member lurkers there is plenty of room on this forum for folks of all walks of life.



I don't know (nor want to know) what was said that you took so personally. I do know that the insinuation you made that I am a communist is totally untrue and has no basis for fact. And because I know the truth about myself I chose to shrug it off. Several years ago I adopted the personal policy that I will not let other peoples' opinions and behavior dictate my comings and goings.



So, the bottom line is this. It is obvious that you have a wealth of knowledge that is very valuable to the TDR membership past, present and future. The TDR will not be the same without your presence. I ask you to reconsider your decision and I will respect what you decide to do.

We have had far too many long term and valuable members go by the way side in the last four months. A great many because they are tired of seeing a close resemblance to "That Ford site".



I don't think that we are any where close to them, with the exception of the Other Forum, and even then it is still well behaved in a sense.



I hope that Bill reconsiders and comes back, and I hope that he did not do any behind the scenes bridge burning in the process of leaving.

Please take your rival with a grain of salt and reconsider your decision to leave. Your life's experiences and opinions that have been cultured by those experiences are highly valued, here in the forums. Take a moment and consider the troubled life of your rival. I believe that everyone who has posted opposing viewpoints in this and other matters can still co-exist in our little world, on the TDR.



This is precisely the reason why I refuse to post in, and usually don't read political threads.

I thought you guys would like to know what lies in the future of Illflem, I may join up myself after my retirement.

Been tossing this around for a couple of months had my interview today.

Call me crazy but I signed on to go to Afghanistan for a year to develop and implement production of alternate crops to replace opium poppies. I think this would do more for the war on terror than a million tons of bombs. Feel like I have to do something to help bring America's reputation back.

Eliminating poverty lowers resentment towards America's excesses.



Professor from Montana St U is putting it together with bucks from the UN(UNESCO). After a telephone interview today the prof said I was more than qualified and really wants me on the team. I visited Afghanistan in the early '70's, liked it then.



Afghanistan actually has a tremendous untapped agricultural potential with the low lying areas having a climate similar to California's Central Valley. They used to be famous for excellent oranges before Russia and the Taliban messed things up.



Diesels too! Much of the project involves installing diesel powered irrigation pumping plants, right up my alley.

Will begin next summer if I decide to go, the prof said I can bail at any time prior to June. I could also join in on the next phase the following June if I'm not ready.

Big decision.

I didn't read all thru that long subject / post. Quite frankly, the subject is boring ... i'd rather be reading about turbos.



But, suffice to say, that putting ones opinion out there, even in a good natured way, with no harm intended, WILL be attacked by the immature types.



Knowin this, I've PM'd people on technical topics to relay an opinion ... no reason to draw the negative types out.



I think we need more "laughing at" smiles, so when we see somebody slam another, we can all fill the thread @ that person ... they will go away.
