I think that it is very thoughtful for the race to continue on with respects to Nowel, I know that Richard had mixed feeling about continuing on to the race however I think he made the right decision to go, there is nothing more he could do at the hospital as they would no longer tell him anything and I think it would be a hell of a great recovery video for Nowel to see Richard blow away the competition... I wish him the best of luck Sunday.

Although alot of us have never met the man, anyone that has been around here for awhile just knows who HVAC is and his expertise in the diesel world.

I first met both Nowel and Richard about 4 years ago when he showed up in his "Lil Red Rocket'' at a



FORD DIESEL EVENT



I had put together at Rollins Lake near Colfax.



Nowel showed up with a bunch of "the Dodge Boys" and immediately openned the hood of his truck, where he had an



"F650" home-made sticker attatched to his valve cover.



Richard and his family showed up soon after in his 95 F350 (still had the 600HP Powerstroke in it back then).



I consider both of these guys to be top-notch folks that are friends of mine.



My prayers go out to both of them and to their families.



My sister sufferred a double brain aneurysm (one on each side) about 2 and a half years ago, and she has made a full recovery.



She was in the hospital for three months (two of which were in a coma), and has regained full mobility and just graduated from tax preparation school, so recovery for Nowel is definitely possible.

Nowel and I had just talked a few days before this, how he hated hospitals and doctors because he had to go in for lazer surgery on his eye for a broken blood vessel. I now wonder if that wasn't a tell-tale sign of this was to happen. I Imagen if he knows what is going on around him, that would have to be very scary for him.

That by itself saddens me more than anything. I am going to try and fly out to see him and let him know how much people here are pulling for him!
