Plenty of fuel, Truck died at the stop light

I am at this time sitting at a stop light in Rockford Illinois. Truck was running fine, I Pulled up to a stop light and it died.
It's turning over fine and with full pedal it tries to fire. Fuel gauge shows 15 lbs. If I keep the pedal down I can get it to hit and run badly but it is blowing clouds of white smoke .
I take my foot off the pedal and it dies.
I show no check engine light. But will put a code reader on the truck when I get home.
The truck just came from the body shop from a pretty good hit in the right front.
I am waiting for a tow right now, 1 mile from my home.

My neighbor had a 2001 with the VP44 that had a similar problem.

Someone on here will likely chime in.
