well i finally got off my arse and got to a dealer to order a 2004 2500 slt quad cab sb in atlantic blue.

they say that the block heater is standard equipment, but i had them write it in on the options list so if it doesn't come with it, i ain't taking delievery of it until it is installed...

my options
  • 2BG - slt package with 4x4
  • PBJ - atlantic blue pearl coat
  • M9DV - prem cloth 40/20/40 bench in dark slate
  • ETH - the mighty cummins HO
  • DEE - the hand shaker
  • RBQ - 6 disc in dash changer
  • RDZ - steering wheel audio controls
  • SCV - leather wrapped steering wheel
  • ADA - light group
  • AJB - security group
  • GPG - power folding trailer tow mirrors
  • CVN - flat folding load floor storage
  • DSA - anti-spin rear end
  • GFD - sliding rear window
  • XAP - power adjusting pedals
  • XJL - front hood protection shield
  • ADB - protection group
  • AGG - sport appearence package
  • AHC - trailer tow group

now, i don't like what they told me for the delievery time. they said about 6 weeks before it'll be built [ok, that's normal], but then they said about 6 weeks for delievery on top of that. . that doesn't sound right to me, but i am in no hurry to get it. they say it'll be stuck at the mexico border for about a week, then at the canadian border for another week, and the rest of the time it is in transport, but they did say it'll be coming by rail. oh well. . i guess in october i'll start looking at selling my 1500 ram, and if it goes before the new one comes in, i'll go to work in my mom's safari van:( [will work out though with me working afternoon 1600-0000 shift]

the wait begins:eek: :D  :D

on edit

oh yeah, i also locked in for 0. 0% for 36 months for the balance after i put a good chunk down when i take delievery

On Canadian trucks, the block heater is still standard - only an option in the US.

As for the 6 weeks travel time, they're giving enough time in case the truck is assigned to Mexico - that means customs twice as it will cross two borders - and some fudge time in case it's an assembly audit vehicle. My 96 took 4 weeks from Lago Alberto MX to north NJ.

Nice buildup there nickleinonen. Sport Atlantic Blue was one of my top choices when I was getting ready to order the '03, but I ended up with Pat. Blue over Silver.

I sure love the radio controls on my steering wheel. Now that I'm used to them I wouldn't be without! I wish the Light Group was available this spring, would've gotten that too. Looks like you got most everything but the Laramie/Leather, which I didn't want (I did get leather tho, didn't want suede inserts and power pedals). The LSD works great and the 6-speed is shifting mighty nice now at 13000 miles. I went drag racing last weekend and broke into the 15s with the help of an Edge box, and that was using all 6 gears :D

Looks like you spec'ed out a nice truck good luck with it.

I hope to be ordering a new '04 tomorrow. Yes you have read correctly, Rosco has lost his mind and will be ordering truck #3 for this year.

Just bought my 03. It came with the block heater and it wasn't on the sticker. Just looked under the hood by the right headlight and BINGO!

Congradulations, sounds like a real nice truck. I'am just a little north of you at the south end of Georgian Bay.

My first 2003 I ordered in Mid June 2002, took delivery Oct. 12th. My second one was ordered March 19th. 2003 and I drove it off the lot May 8th. The second time around was alot quicker. Probably due to the fact it was near the end of the production year and everybody had there fill of them.

Just be patient, it will realiscally be here sometime in December, just in time to pick up the Christmas tree. Well worth the wait though! Pete

:) Just thought I would pass on my dates so far. Ordered my 04 on July 9. 03 and it was shiped from Mexico on the 17th of August.

Waiting is truly painful, but I can guarantee its worth it. This will be my 3rd Ram and second Cummins. I sold my 99 SLT. and I'm relegated to the Durango for now. Hope this makes the wait easier. :D

Northerner 04-QC SLT LB 4X4 HO/6 SPD

New order

Just received an email stating that the truck I ordered on Aug. 24 is scheduled to be shipped on 9-9 with it arriving at the dealership at or before the 23rd of Sept. Seems like they are moving pretty fast right now. One month from order to delivery. Should be fun. :)

Oops

Just received an email from the dealer stating that the order info was someone else's order! Mine has no ship date yet. Oops. Speaking of that, where is that tracking info again? Thanks.

I ordered mine 5 weeks ago today, and they said it would be 6-8 weeks. Haven't heard anything, so I'm going to call them tomorrow. Up till now the wait has been bearable, but now everytime I see a new CTD on the road I start to get rather impatient.
