OK OK... You guys finally worried me enough! picked up a 5' AC charge hose and a liquid filled 0-30 PSI gauge and tested mine.
Meter readings did not pulse. Rock steady.
Truck has 8,000 mile on it and is totally stock.
At the input to the VP-44 got:
Idle 15
Cruise 13
WOT 7
At the input to filter:
Idle 16
Cruise 14
WOT 8
So now I can quit worrying!! But I will still install a permanent gauge setup!! Thanks for making me worry. Also, I opend the drain valve on the filter and caught the fuel in a clean glass jar. Had 2 drops of water and no sediment. So it appears my fuel source is clean and dry. It seems that the drop across the filter is the best means to decide when to change a fuel filter. Planning on checking periodically until I figure out which gauges to order.
