Powerwagon claims---
"And it would be screaming laugh to see Sled Puller try to keep up on the 1/4 mile run. "
"I suspect truck pulls are 50% driver, 30% setup, 20% power. "
Now I myself would like to hear his lengthy explanation on this,,Certainly we all know in drag racing a stick vechicle is at a disadvantage, especially when there is not one aftermarket shifter to aid in smoother and more positive engagement(as far as parts for our trucks),,Complaining, nope, just a fact and I'd be willing to bet PW when ya ask Gene he'll tell ya he's not a drag racer ,nor is his truck built for it,,I'd like you to tell some of the East/West or wherever bracket racers setup is only a small percentage of the equasion,,With out a good setup(combination) or HP to make it consistent the driver means nothing,,If you can not run the number your as one of our eastern announcers would say "OUTTA HERE"... ...
Without power sled pulling is a tough deal,,Sure the driver contributes, knowing what tire or pressure, gear selection or where to place the sled for his pending pull means alot,,BUT,without the HP/Torque all the other means nothing, guess you would not know that since youve never been to a pull,,
Mitchells group backed up what they were talking,,Win lose or draw,Jim is a stand up guy and just got beat, you certainly can not say he did not have the power so in your eyes what did he lack to win???,,First pull, the sled and track is all the same, level playing field for all so whats the difference??,,Bet Jim don't care, just will motivate him harder for Scheids later... .
