I have never met Jim in person, but from all I can tell, Jim's decent to everyone, win or lose on the track.

I can't say I've ever seen him start an argument or insult people gratiutously. In my view, that makes him a winner, no matter what.

Did I mention I'm partial to Montanans?

hehehehe

:D

DonM-I don't think you should even get involved in this. You are nothing but a loudmouth that can't back it up! I wish SSSSSOOOO much you would show your face here tomorrow.

Before I head off to work for the day, I thought I would mention that Gene whooped everyone last night in the pulls. Just in case you haven't heard. :D :D :D :D ;)

You're not reading.

I said Jim's a decent guy whether he wins or loses. If he tries his best and loses, so what?

I'm not crying. I doubt he is either.

He's still a good guy and got a heck of a truck.

And it would be screaming laugh to see Sled Puller try to keep up on the 1/4 mile run.

I suspect truck pulls are 50% driver, 30% setup, 20% power.

We can argue the details of that till the cows come home, but we can agree that in the end, there's far more to truck pulls than power alone.

LMAO!! Powerwagon, where did you come up with those percentages? Have you ever been to a truck pull? Or are you like DonM and just assume you know what you are talking about?

I thought we were going to get a demonstration of winning a pull with power, not RPM?? What happened?? Man,I was really looking forward to that! I guess the HP KING must feel perty silly getting spanked by us Midwest hillbillys.

msmtd????

msmtd, I don't know where you are coming from First you throw the slam at Don then Powerwagon. I don't see a Sig on you what do you drive an old Datsun PU??? Where was it you placed in the pull???

For a guy with only 38 post it sound like you know it all why don't you tell us back yard western country folks all about it!!!

FYI I voted for Mean Gene

Powerwagon, pulling is just about like drag racing. It's all about the power. The best setup in the world won't be at the long end of the track unless it has the power to put it there. If you take a look at Gene's truck, there isn't much variance from a stock truck setup other then clutch and engine.

It's all about the power buddy.

Johnboy3, It's power to the ground for both, not just power. My drag car wouldn't even move w/o it's slicks:eek:

Hmmm... Dunno. No, I don't get to truck pulls. None in my area. Watched a few on tv.

But, I've drag raced a little. Autocrossed a little. And, I know this for sure: Nobody, regardless of the HP under the hood, is going to win unless they know how to use it.

Truck pulling is more than just hitching up, picking a random gear, and flooring it till you drive out the gate. So is drag racing, so is autocross. I've never seen a competition yet that wasn't more dependent on the mind than on the machine or body.

But, hey, if you wanna tell me that there's no need to know what you're doing, feel free. Until then, I stand by my assertion that truck pulling is more driver and equipment than horsepower - horsepower alone, even massively overwhelming, isn't going to win it for you, if you don't know how to use it.
