Hey all,
So I get this popping sound sometimes, not all time when though when turning left or right. The whole front end has been replaced within 6 months. (ball joints, track bar, tie rods, etc..) I have checked axle u joints, steering shaft nothing loose. Any ideas on what else to look for?

Thanks

Depends on who did the work. Could be any number of things. Crawl under it and have someone turn the steering wheel back and forth. Use a flashlight to closely look at all moving parts. Look closely at the trac bar mount at the frame. They are known to wear out the mounting hole because they uses a small dia sleeve that has little contact area.

Double check all the bolt torques, likely track bar related as Yo Hoot mentioned and being an 07 it could have either 14mm or 16mm bolts, if its 14mm I would upgrade to a 16mm setup as the bolts are much stronger and will correct oblonged holes.

Yes they they do "pop" when they shift.

Thanks, I did check the torque as well but didn't check for end play, It does have the 16mm bolts. Had friend turn steering back and forth while i looked and listened, course it didn't do while i was looking. (my kind of luck).
Yo Hoot thanks as well for info.

Well problem solved, took the truck to suspension shop and they did a look over, Apparently the track bar bolts were not torqued to the right spec.
They re-torqued the bolts, No more popping sound. cost was 35 to inspect and retorqued.
Thanks all for your feedback.

Last year I put new bushings in my track bar from Genos and that cured the death wobble. But, a popping noise has started recently. Maybe mine has loosened up too. Mine pops on tight turns going slow, especially if the truck drops down in a dip. Had a shop look at it, but they didn't find anything wrong. But that doesn't mean anything these days with glorified parts changers... I mean techs. I haven't re-torqued the track bar bolts though. I hope that's whats wrong with mine. A simple fix would be nice. I hate that popping noise.

As yo hoot mentioned check the bolt holes as well make sure they are not worn out to. i had asked the guy who look at my truck. He didin't think just replacing bushings is not the best due to track bar holes could be worn, spend the extra and replace the whole bar. good luck hope its a simple fix as well.
