Ok well I was looking at selling the truck in January (see sig) to purchase a Club Cab. Well right now that situation is looking very dim. :{

So I'm thinking that if I can't afford get the CC that I want why not just BOMB my current one!:D

So with that in mind I'm thinking of taking out a small loan to give my truck a good swift kick in the @$$! from its stock form.

The first thing I will have to do is replace my clutch. Its fine in its stock form right now pulling anything, but the first BOMB would probably kill it rather quickly.

The very next thing that was on my list after clutch replacement is a #10 TST plate. After that would be a set of 300 Horse injectors because 370's would be to hot for me since I tow rather heavy on occasion. Lastly would be a PDR HX35 (which I'm still debating).

You guys that have some of these BOMB's what HP/TQ #'s do you think I'll be seeing with the #10 and 300HP injectors?

The PDR HX35 is still on the maybe list considering on how big of a loan I would be able/want to take out.

Do you think that EGT's would be manageable without the addition of the Turbo? I already have a straight through exhaust and a BHAF, but I'm not looking to upgrade to a 4" Exhaust.

This is still all in the thinking stages, but I would like some serious input.

Thanks,

Mark

IMHO... . this is none of my business. . however I would not recommend that you take out a loan to BOMB your rig... and here is why

Your a little low on cash now [if it requires a loan to bomb then $$ must be low]. . anyhow what happens if you are now Bombed and say $5k in debt and you have a pump failure or a transmission explode or any other high dollar repair. . your in a pickle cause there are no resources to do the repairs. .

The HP game is a fun and EXPENSIVE game to play. not everyone should play it. . there are other things more important than putting a move on the next door neighbor's Ford... there is no shame in not being able to upgrade for a few months or a couple years.

NO FLAME INTENDED HERE as I don't know you or your personal financial condition.

Come on Mark, surely you've heard of Dave Ramsey.

If not, tune to 99. 7fm weekdays from 1-4pm. To summarize, save your money--pay cash.

For those out of the area the show is carried nationwide and on the web too. Dave is a financial advisor of the MOST SIMPLE and HONEST type. He's been broke before, he built himself and family back up by NEVER borrowing money. He's not against us borrowing to buy a personal residence--because they go up in value and have many other useful qualities. But credit cards and car loans are big no-no's because everything you buy with them DEPRECIATES big time and you're paying interest for that opportunity.

Give him a listen. If I had at your age, I could have three CTD's in the driveway and fly Piers down here every time I had a question!

While it is fun to spend money before you make it, it's way more fun to pay cash, and have money in the bank, and NO PAYMENT, NO INTEREST, EVER!

Mark, I dont know what HP you would have with the setup you described, but I bet it would be alot! I had a '97 I put a TST #12 plate and AFC spring kit in. Cost was somewhere around $300. For not much $$ those two items will give your truck a pretty good kick in the a**. Unless your clutch is aready dead it should also hold that power.

Good Luck,

Tom
