First trip to the dealer, radio and rear axle

My 2014 3500 just had a tech mistakenly fill my crank case with 4 gallons of oil instead of three. I drove it home and then back to the dealer , about 25 miles round trip.
Could there have been any damage done by running it over filled? The dealer said that the excess oil would just end up on the ground and not harm the engine. Was he right?

I doubt it will cause any longterm damage. How did you figure out it was overfilled?

And some think I am paranoid not wanting even a dealer to change my oil.

I left a case of 4 gallons in the rear seat. The first two folks at the brain trust told me that 4 gallons equaled 12 Qts.
I then asked to speak to someone who completed elementary school. That took some time. Finally I spoke to a bright female voice that explained that their techs were not used to handling gallon containers. I advised her to tighten up their drug testing procedures.

Bahahaha! Thanks for the morning guffaw!

It should be fine. I might ask them to change the crankcase filter for you. No oil could have gotten to the ground unless it came out of a seal. It would have had a better chance of loading the filter as it is a closed crankcase and any excessive splash and vapor would pass through the filter.
Did it have a rough idle with the extra gallon? If not it was not excessively high in the crankcase. I would not give it another thought as far as long term damage.
