You're taking this one wrong... you got to get up some speed and fly off it. Joking!

I did some pretty scary (stupid) climbing and descending in Iceland in my former 1980 Toyota Hilux 4x4 SB 2.2l 5spd 4.10s. That is seriously crazy 4-wheeling over there. And, Icelandic auto insurance (in 1982) didn't cover off road damage. There were 4-wheeler carcasses that were too costly to recover, but would get salvaged for part, if any left. There were some controlled falls down terrible grades that if i would have touched the brakes I would have gone end over end. I had one friend refuse to ride down with me. It took him an hour to get down, I was down under a minute. I got bit one time though... racing on packed snow/ice and because I was winning, found a hot spring that had hollowed out under the surface... so lucky it was small and I had 2" double tube bumpers and single tube side bars. I crashed through and stopped from est 70 MPH to zero in about 15ft. The entire left side of the truck was buried up to the window sill of the left side. I have a pic if it, but got to find it and post later. Sooo happy to still be alive.

Thanks for sharing!

Cheers, Ron

Friends,

This is great! Thanks for posting the pics of your 4-wheelers. Whished I would have titled this Post Your 4-Wheeler Pics instead if just Jeep pics.

Keep it coming... nothing like a thread that keeps bubbling to the top to capture folks attention.

Chee-eers, Ron

I have been around Jeeps my whole life and have really enjoyed them. I wish I had pictures from all of them. All of them have served us well and have held their value well over the years. Due to the Jeep trucks not being manufactured anymore and I needed a bigger cab for the family I bought the 2009 Dodge Ram. Once I got passed the front end issues and emission issues - I am finally liking this truck quite a bit. Sort of wish I had bought one of these back in the 90's as I really liked the styling. I think I really would have liked a 12 valve truck. Maybe when Dodge Ram gets the ZF 8 speed transmission combined with the CTD I will think seriously about upgrading to a newer truck.
Dad owned a 1964 J200 Gladiator - I learned to drive it at 9 years old. He also had a 1965 CJ-6, 1974 J-10 pickup, 1977 CJ-7, 1978 - 4 door cherokee, 1996 Cherokee and 2003 Grand Cherokee. He passed away last year but mom kept the legacy going and purchased a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee a few months ago.

Here is a picture of his 1981 J20. I sold this to a collector several years ago.

Here is my 1986 J20 pickup. This was my fun project vehicle for many years. It currently sits in a barn getting dusty. Life is so busy.....

Here is our 1974 CJ-5. Our family bought this in 1983 and we are the second owners. I hope to do a full restoration some day but for now it serves as a farm Jeep.

Here is my 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Sadly it has been sitting in the garage needing some TLC.

Here is my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I sold last year as it was getting long in the tooth.

Here is our latest ride I purchased last year 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I tow 35-36k combined West Coast with a 15 DRW/AISIN. I have ZERO desire for more gears. 85k and still loving it!!!

crispyboy:
Does the Jeep Grand Wagoneer have the 360 cu in and does it have full time 4 wheel drive? That was the way my 1979 Grand Cherokee was set up and I was luck if I got 7 to 8 MPG out of the best with no A/C in it. But I would buy that vehicle back in a sec.

My older son (the one with all the toy's) still has a 1979 Ford Bronco. He bought this in 1989 and rebuilt this once, it is now being rebuilt again with a 454 cu in engine in it. He hopes to have this back on the road in early OCT. He is getting help from the TV show called the "Garage Squad", that is aired on the "Motor Trend" channel. But he has done a lot of work ahead of time on the Bronco getting it ready for the show. The work that the production company will do and filming will take place around the end of Sept.

The Grand Wagoneer has a New Process 229 transfer case and 360 cu in AMC motor. It was 2wd, Full time 4wd high (can be used on dry pavement, wet pavement or snow) and when put in 4wd low it would solidly couple the front and rear together. The Wagoneer has 3:31 gears so it could get 15 mpg steady driving on the expressway. The 1978 Cherokee which was owned way back by my dad had the Quadra-trac system but it too could get 15 on the expressway - downhill:)
Let us know when the show will air around your son's Bronco. I enjoy seeing old iron get revived.

Just today I purchased a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Willys. It’s in Sting Gray, has the 3.6L and 850RE 8 speed automatic.

Other options are 25W Willys, Technology Group, Trailer Tow And HD Electrical Group, Black Three Piece Hard Top, and Alpine Premium Audio System.

Better pictures to come later!
