Scott; you may have also seen his 2006, crew cab long bed truck on that site. He has a built 5.9L Cummins using EFI live, that is around 800HP now. He did take the truck to a track and turned in a 13.24 sec at 111.69 MPH in the quarter mile in 2012. He burnt a piston in the engine due to over fueling and then rebuilt the engine. But he has never taken the truck to the track since then. The truck has around 30,000 miles on the OD.

Here are a couple of pic's from 2012.

2 day clinic with Badlands Off Road Adventures, based out of Palm Springs. What a 1st class outfit! Learned so much! Main thing was my lightly modified 3rd gen 4runer Limited (into it for a little over $10K) competed very well with the TDR Pro models and the $60,000 Jeep Rubicons. LOL. Most fun you can have with your clothes on. The pics don't really show how steep and rutted this hill was. Butt clencher.

I left out Monday with a load of two gooseneck and three utility trailers bound for Gatesville, TX. I also was able to secure a load of theee gooseneck trailers from Emory, TX to their dealership in Mt Sterling, KY....about 1.5 hours from home. I’d been looking for some milder, all terrain style take-off tires and wheels, and scored some in Waxahachie, TX from a Jeep forum I belong to.

I figured what better place to ***** out my pictures than Ron’s thread.

These are 500 mile take-offs from a 392 Wrangler Unlimited. LT285/70R17’s

Hey Rotorhead my father bought his 1982 Jeep J20 from Russell Reed and Son dealership! what a small world.

It is indeed! Those small dealers dotted the country years ago. Same with the smaller Harley Davidson dealers.

An interesting fact on that dealer sales slip is the extra $35.00 for the Omaha Orange paint. That's a fleet only color and you had to purchase 3 or more to get that color.

The Red Bus I posted early had almost 30K in upgrades before he was done, ten years ago. A side by side is pretty easy to do that same thing to, that is the cost of upgrades coming close to the original purchase price, OR maybe even more. As some guys just go all out on upgrades. I just ordered the mid priced full belly skid plate for my KRX and it was over 500, the top line one with shipping is around 900+. Tires are 250+ each and many upgrade right after buying the rig. I will run my OEM tires for a while and switch to LT tires which many do. My rig came with 31-10-15's and I can go to 35-10-15's which increases ground clearance. I have two stage springs on the shocks, and I replaced the tender(top softer spring) and all four corners. Springs were less than 300. Take it to Stock Therapy and the 8 upgraded springs and shock turning is the 1700 I mentioned earlier. Have them add electronic ride control and the number jumps much higher. Like just about every motor sport, SxS are not for those that are on a limited budget! My four point harness for two seats was just under 400, Kawasaki's 6 point is almost 600.

Well Tuesday I went from 31" OEM tires to 33" STI X Comp A/T another $1200 bucks to replace tires with 265 miles on them. Friend is giving me 500 for them however. Arm was sore from the torqueing sequence of the bead locks. Added the OEM nerf bars also. Rear trailing arm skids on order. "The beat goes on!"

That turned out beautiful!

I did not know that the Garage Squad only does shows (restorations) in the Chicago area.

Thanks guys. For those that didn't see the show Eric is on the end holding the sign copy of a Garage Squad license plate. His 2006, is under the truck cover in the garage behind him, and his 1996, 12V is at a friend's house, he had to make room to work on the Bronco.

The show was a little misleading, when they bought the house, this house already had the two garages.

I like the Garage Squad, this episode and one done on a '79 LRE. Mine is a '78, but the show helped me a lot. What's better than learning tricks if the trade while fixing a cool ride? Great fun, cool folks and sweet rides. What else is there?

Christmas Cheers, Ron
