Well, got home and no one has started the traditional numbers thread yet, so here it is.



Even with a stock converter I put down 334. 2 HP with 900+ lbs trq.



Eric did very well but I'll let him post it. Mike (Mr. Spud Boy) blew all the first gens away with over 447(?). Jason was down righ scary. WOW!!!!!! 752+ and they had to chain it to Piers truck to keep it on the rollers!! Rhonda did 456(?). That girl is kickin' some fanny. Too bad the dually's couldn't run. I would like to have seen what some of them would do.

Well, I'll quit ramblin' and let everyone post their own ACURAT numbers.



A very big thanks to Piers and the crew for a great day.



And a big thanks to Pastor Bob (the MC) for letting everyone know to move AFTER the soot was covering the crowd.

I just want to thank everyone in the PDR family for putting on a 1st class event. We could not have asked for better weather, or a better organized event. Thanks to every one involved, the guys in the dyno booth did a awesome job all day, and deserve a huge thanks, for working there rears off, on what should have been a day off, again PDR thanks for a great day, and I'm sure you have made a lot of new friends.

Thanks to the entire group at PDR. Like Bob said, it was great to finally put some faces to the names. What no one has mentioned is that the first gens were competitive in every class except the open dividions. MIke lost by 1. 1 HP to someone that broke out of the 350 division by a mere 97. 3 HP.



Jasons run of 752HP on #2 alone was incredible!!!:--) Ran my rig for the first time on a dyno and it did what I expected. Dynoed 196. 1HP and 550+ torque Next year, after some transmission work (thanks for the ideas Dave), I expect to do much better.



The border crossing coming back was fun. Got searched cause I carry 500lbs of sand in the back of my truck. The customs agent kept asking why I was bringing sand back into the country. She couldn't seem to get it through her head that I took it out of the country 12 hours earlier and was just bringing it back where it belonged. Got grilled, searched and 45 mins. later, I was on my way home.

Thanks to everyone at Piers, it was a first class event, nothing could have been better, i was very please with # : 288. 5 H. P. and very close to 800 lbs of torque, can't wait to put that transmission in. It was a pleasure to meet everyone and have fun.

PDR that was a first class show!

The food and refreshments were much appreciated.

Sure saw a lot of nice looking trucks. Saw and spoke to CTD owners from Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Manitoba and of course BC. My truck with the PW's put out just under 210, which is probably about right considering that the fuel screw is still sitting at stock. I have not yet gone to the POD's as I am not a great smoke fan. Waiting for the non-smoker version of the POD's and then it will be time to turn up the fuel and change out the stock exhaust. It sure was nice to see three first gen trucks going well over 300 (Dave, Woodie and Bob) and "Old Smoky" over 400 Oo.



A big THANK YOU to Piers and the PDR team for a great event!!

Hey guys... . that was an AWESOME EVENT... ... .

I really gotta take my hat off to the guys running the dyno... I think they ran more than 65-70 trucks thru, no malfunctions, no mess-ups... . they had one break at lunch for about 40 minutes, and one "biobreak" mid afternoon... other than that they did jockey duty in and out, did runs for those who wanted someone experienced to do it... all had a great time. .



Now..... Old Smokey just set the bar ..... again..... Mike rolled on, got straightened out on the rollers, the sensors were hooked up and off he went..... one run only and he did 447. ? first time out... .

Next year we've agreed that 500 RWHP is the goal post...

Piers, Louise, Morgana Steph', my sweety Beth, brother Randy (Woodie), Harry, and the whole crew made me real proud to be associated with them,,, it was top drawer all the way.....

Jason Burton from NW Custom was dirty as a coal miner at the end of the day and still kicking.....



I regret to say, somewhat embarrassed, that I only turned 310RWHP..... I owe Piers and PDR a public apology for letting them down... . after the time they gave me to tweak and fiddle it was dissapointing to say the least.

Earlier in the week I had "hog" nozzles in the truck with a much larger turbo... I went from 343 HP to 325 HP... .

I pulled the "hogs" out and put the POD's back in, I immediately did 373. 4 HP.

Mid week I did some more fuel hunting and found a bit more (at the expense of a start/stop solenoid) and didn't get a chance to test it before DynoMania... . I put the fire out...

I couldn' t break 1200*F and 310 HP... megasmoke, but no HP.

So... My Apologies to Piers, the crew and PDR, along with the others, including Mike who were there to root me on... .

I'll try to do better next time...



I'll go out on a limb and guess we had no less than 200 or more trucks show up. The entire (and fairly large) parking lot as well as the streets approaching the shop were bumper to bumper... in fact we had to ask a few guys to move their vehicles so semi's could make it round the turn on the front street.



OH and before I forget... . the dyno runs made (??) $580 Can and $780 USD for the Childrens Hospital and fire relief for the folks who were burned out including much of one or two towns as well.

You should all be very proud of yourselves for that accomplishment, ... we are. .

I too had a chance to meet some folks and put the names to the faces... . Stan (paccool) is a great guy, and his kind wife let him come play with us while she sat reading a book back at camp.

Stan did well and was pleased with his truck.

GLachance (Gui) as I call him had an ear to ear smile when he saw his numbers... . atta boy you crazy frenchman.....

Hey Bob... it was really great to finally meet you after all this time...

I should also apologize to the dually guys..... we honestly didn't realize that a rear wheel had to come off your trucks to run them.

Next time we'll be prepared with air tools, jacks and what ever is needed so we can roll you in, in sequence and see you're treated more equitably ... any dually who missed out should have gotten a rain check to come back.

BTW, Sam from SamsRams was there too... it was good to meet you Sam, and he also did the install of a new shift lever with the OD button on it... a perfect job and it is a sweet little addition... no more hunting for the OD button while driving down the highway or on a back road... I think it's a must have for guys with OD on the 1st Gen trucks.



Well that's it for me... . I hope to do better next time or let someone else take the challenge perhaps... .

I had a great time. I'm glad I finally got to meet some of you, and see some friends again. I would like to thank PDR and everyone involved in this event. Bob did a great job anouncing. My old '92 made 446. 2hp, and 1050lb/ft of torque. It was great to see such a turnout - many more first gens than expected.

My 3/4 ton with extra heavy leafs in the back is REAL RoUgH without at least 500lbs of weight in it. 500lbs is nice, 1000 is better, just takes up too much of the bed.

Hey Bob, don't worry about the numbers. The only way to see if something works, that hasn't been done before, is to try it. We wouldn't be getting anywhere if we just sat back and didn't stick our necks out every once in a while. I respect your drive, as well as others, for trying different things, even if it doesn't work. I have tried several things that didn't work very well. For instance, the EDM's I am working on. They may not have been a huge success the first time around, but with some more tuning I'm sure they will work very well. A little R&D is all it takes. About that 500hp.....

Hey guys, I just finished transferring the video I shot on Saturday onto VHS, and I'll be dropping it off at PDR on Thursday of Friday, so we should see a few clips on Piers web site soon after. Do you guys remember at the first gen party when Piers was doing his trade mark donut show behind the shop, when the back end of his truck almost clips the back end of a truck parked back there? if you don't watch the video again, anyway, this time I have him doing his show in the parking lot and almost putting his front bumper under my rear bumper , you should have heard my brother, he was in the back of the truck with me and his kids, thank god he was in the back of the truck and not inside, cause I think he left a little goo in his gonch:--)

I hope that clip makes the cut, my video camera was having a hard time focusing in the dark so it does not look that great, but it was working good during the day. I did'nt get chance to tape Rhonda putting on a show, I was walking back from the shop when she started, plus at that point video taping was almost a waste of time because the sun had gone down, and the light on my camera is wwwaaaayyyy to small.

Holy smokin' tailpipes

What a blast - what a trip - what a good time!



... got back from our 2500-mile trip safe and sound! Had a great time in every respect. Rig ran perfectly, no problems.



You know, I never thought that my diesel would ever be 'fast' - just never occurred to me that it even could be. What I needed was more power for pulling and maintaining speed while hauling - what I got is all that plus the bonus of having a big ole' diesel that is fun to drive and is actually 'fast'! This whole diesel thing has got a completely new perspective now, and I LIKE it!



Two days up, three days there, two days back. Truck went up with 136 hp and came back with 253 hp and 630 tq! Picked up some hardware from PDR - Set of POD's, HX-35, 16cm2- I installed it right there on the spot, and was able to ask the fellas about how it all works together. Mark was having fun cracking open a virgin pump, and damn what a difference. Dialed up the timing and rotated the diaphram. Never needed to touch the fuel pin. Special thanks go to the crew up there, especially NASCAR Mark (thanks for your hospitality - really appreciate your setting me up for the weekend), Pastor Bob, Jason, Dave, Harry, and of course Piers. I appreciate your help and patience while I asked questions. I love doing the work and appreciate your insight as to how not to screw it up. I come to find out that it's all pretty simple, and also that my truck was completely factory-untouched. This made for some really good comparisons between stock, and BOMBed baby!



One more thing - Turbo whine is GOOD - Rig sounds like a B-52 on approach now! The looks we got on the way back were too funny - people looking at my otherwise stock-looking old truck, with this incredible turbofan sound coming from the hood - I like it dudes!



Stan, Lance, Rhonda, Larry, Lee, Jeff, Chris, Malcom, so many others - good to meet y'all! Something else I enjoyed - everyone there was a friend. Anyone that needed help or advice or had a question had no problem with getting help. Good folks in this business, and that makes doing this stuff that much more enjoyable. Lots of folks that have been there and done that, and willingly offer their advice and help to make these rigs run, look, and feel better. Gotta love that.



My rig has 225k miles on it now, runs like new, and now has nearly DOUBLE the power I went up with. Gas mileage is the same, but my passing speed and power is just awesome.



Bob - My pleasure installing the O/D levers, glad you like it - Plugged one into yours, Marks, and Harry's - I'm working the instructions so anyone can plug one in - I don't know how I drove without it.



Great time - I might be in another state when the next one comes around, but I'll be at that one too. First rate event - The dyno numbers and the trucks that were there are just amazing! Jason, ~ 750 hp?, soonnova-! Good stories and good times - I even had some 'rice' for dinner on the way back (oh damn was that funny... !). And big trucks marking their territory in the parking lots while sending up smoke signals is about the best thing I have seen in a long time! Drag racing on Friday night was great too. The stuff the crowd was saying in the grandstands... you had to be there - "is that a, a diesel? What in the hell - damn, is it really a diesel? Damn, sonnova - !"



Okay, so I wrote a book - it was a great time. If you didn't go you must go to the next one.

It really is one of those "... . how did I get along without it... " things.

Ok, that's the ONLY concession I'll make to using 2nd Gen parts... . no more... uh uh, no how no way.....



Oh BTW, Sam, the check really is in the mail as of today. Again, thankyou for the install and yes, instructions would be a big plus.



Mark is right of course, it was all meant to be nothing but fun.

Piers and Louise and everyone there worked hard up front leading up to the event. They dropped some serious coin to make everyone welcome.

I don't mind saying that thanks to the crowd and help, it made being the one guy who forgot to step BACK when they asked for an MC volunteer, much easier... although next year I'll paying more attention when they ask that particular question.



OH... . Jason Burton... . what can I say, that guy worked like an old fashioned plow horse... he actually looked like a coal miner at the end of the day. Jason, first class buddy, it's a pleasure to work beside you.
