Posting pic's question

I need some tips on how to post pictures. I picked up the "New to me" truck this past Friday, and took some photos on the way back to the casa. Thanks...

You can resize them down to work or host them to Photobucket and paste the link in your post. The pic will show up here. I do either, depending on how lazy I am.

Thanks for the info, but I don't know what "photobucket" is. Could you please explain? And I sure am lazy tonight, I can't wait to be on the job tomorrow!

photobucket is a free website that provides a place to upload pic's or videos.

I don't know what photobucket is either. I have posted a large number of pictures and do this by getting my film or my photo card (depending upon the camera used) copied/converted onto a CD at a camera shop or maybe wal mart. Then, I pic the pics I want to load onto my computer. I then load them onto the 'puter into the pictures file. I can resize them by way of the "paint" program.



When you post a reply you'll see the "manage attatchments" and this will bring up you photo file in the computer. You click on the one(s) you need to load into the post (up to five or six pics?) and then enter each one.



In the paint program, they will appear as a number like AB112329 and then you can change that to any decription you'd like such as "1993 D250 #1" and "1993 D250 #2" and so on... ... ... ...



Tip: if you post a picture you cannot ever post that picture again on this site. Ever. So, you simply change the picture description, as you had done in the paint program, to a slightly different description such as "1993 D250 #1B" then you can post it again some months later if the need would arise. You can post the same picture 100 times if needed simply by changing the decsription.

Scott, it seems like you do it the hard way. I take the pics with the digital camera, plug it into the computer and turn it on. The 'puter senses it, and I just follow the prompts to download it. The wife pulls the card and puts it in a docking station thingy, but it's the same process.

I think the program came with the camera, but I could be wrong!



And now that Philip babysat me thru paint again, I can resize pics all by myself with out losing them! :-laf

I knew someone would would reply about the "hard way". However, it works too easy for me. Besides, the trip to the camera shop allows me to make a custom CD that I can keep and get a few pictures printed on paper.

Huh??? Computer doesn't have a CD burner? You don't have a picture capable ink jet printer?



Both are cheaper than almost any part on these trucks and a lot easier to find, can you say WALMART. :-laf

Funny. I don't even have a **computer**



I "can" say this about the camera shop... ... ... ... It must be the way to go as they have five computers you set down at with your camera card to customize pictures. The problem is, you have to wait for one to open up some times as they are all in constant use. The local walmart only has one. I guess there are a good number of folks employing the camera shop method compared to buying your own equipment?



So... ... ... . I would surmize, that the camera shop method is the way to go as opposed to your own home office complete with cd burner and ink something or other jet-lag. But then again I don't have a home office and don't even have my own computer. My tax refund goes towards my truck mods this year... ... ... . maybe next?



Hey, at last I have ditched the 35mm camera for a digital unit... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . yeah!

Greensleaf - if you look at the link right above this you'll see that you can reuse a picture in another post. No need to upload it again and use up storage space.
