While I was at May Madness I installed Edge Products "Power Edge" and went for a spin on a back road (did not want to be fodder for Johney Law). I really like this product inparticuliar it's flexibility.

Installation: The module can be adhered to the lower dash with velcro just like the blue box. The wiring harness is drawn through the main wiring boot in the firewall. The several connectors for the MAP sensor are attached afterwards to keep the bulk down for fishing the wiring through the rubber boot in the firewall, good idea! The MAP connectors are such that you cannot make a mistake with the connections, they only go together one way. A secondary group of wires branching off the main loom within the engine compartment go to the battery, 12v and ground. The 12v power supply wire has an inline fuse holder within the cab for protection against shorts. A very key point to be made as this juncture is regarding how the wiring is attached to the pump wires. An ingenious connector which I have not seen elsewhere is used to tap the pump wire, this is the equivalent of sticking a needle into the wire. I do not see how this could be spotted by anyone once the block with the needle tap is removed. This is MUCH more suttle then the scotch connectors and I think a big plus. Now we are on the inside of the cab where you simply plug in the multi pin spuare connector on the wire loom to the matching connector from the box and your done.

Operation: This may be the most important part of all, this module has three fueling curves available. If you want to pull a trailer you may need to run a minimal fueling program to keep the egt in check. If you are empty you may want a hotter fueling level for maximum performance. This option is now available to you with the push of a button! #ad

I love electronics! #ad
All you do is push the button and the led will blink 1, then 2, then 3 times to indicate the fueling level. Of course since the wiring ties into the MAP sensor the fueling is based on boost appreciation to control smoke. You won't get a check engine light as a result of the MAP signal control to the ECM.

Road test: A fellow MM attendee and I took off for a seat of the pants test. Well it is all good #ad
The power is delivered smoothly and seamlessly. I blew by Mike Crossley on the way home from MM just to see if I could break a few windows and the report was NO SMOKE! #ad
I propose this device is for the general populous as well as the horsepower heads like me, just push the button.

The pitch: I've tried a lot of products and this one is a keeper! This product is just coming on the market and pricing is competitive (less then any of the other boxes). If you have questions go ahead and post them here and everyone will benefit from the input. If you are interested in pricing then email me, Rob does not want that type of information on the BB. Brett will have inventory next week I am told so I hope to get a quanity of fresh ones for the BB members. I can tell you this, I will provide them for a significant discount as I need to purchase a significant quanity to obtain my distributor status with Edge Products.

You can see a picture of the product by checking out my site @ http://www.performanceDiesel.20m.Com/Power_Edge/power_edge.html

Finally !!! i've been waiting for this report . how do you like it compared to the[censored] box ???? it is possible to make the [censored] box adjustable , i've seen one that was adjustable for the cab .

Well, I will say that for now the Blue Box is making more horsepower. But that is with a hailstorm of smoke. I do not think that the smoke level of the BB would be tolerable for the majority of people. The Power Edge makes more sense as it controls the smoke while providing strong horsepower.

Just buy one and try it! hehe Its got a 60 day Money back garentee, how can you go wrong?

I am buying it just for fun and gonna let at least one other person ehre in Omaha "try" it out in his truck (ETH).

There is a special price until June 1st (from Edge) and HVAC has a pretty darn good price as well. Soon as I get it and fondle it for a while I will post an update.

I saw the box but did not get a ride in the Red Ram #ad

That was one interesting test drive. #ad
3 blinks of the led and hold on. Last thing I was in that went that fast had wings. #ad
0 to takeoff quicker than you can say propane injection. #ad

With that much power I was amazed there was hardly any smoke with the box on the highest setting. Just a little puff on the shifts. Will that box work on a 2001 eth?

The question of weather the Power Edge will work on the ETH is a good one. Brett had been looking for one to test with. Mike Vonada has a ETH, maybe we can install a Power Edge on his truck. I may have to comandier one of the Ram Runners trucks for this purpose #ad
Either way, we will know soon.

UPDATE: The Power Edge has been installed on 3 different ETH trucks and is working well I am happy to report. Also I have a friend here in the bay with an ETH and I hope to test the Power Edge on his truck #ad

A fella here in Omaha has a ETH that I am going to let him install my PowerEdge on it see how it works. I specifically asked Brett to toss in 4 or 5 "connectors" so that I could install and uninstall a few times, he agreed at no charge. Soon as I get the PowerEdge and I meet up with Doug Hatfield and get it installed we will gladly report back.

I'll be adding one soon. Missed my plane so I have a few hours to get it ordered!!

Can't wait to see how it does in our backwoods bog races. (against mother nature, no crowds, no prizes just pride and that 'toolman' thing)

Careful #ad
when you start talking to the HVAC. I now have a set of stage III's(A's)coming in the mail. Then of course add the edge module and the smoke problem will be from the rear wheels, tee hee #ad

I have a G tech meter so plan on posting the results from the bombing. We have been testing the meter and it is pretty accurate for engine hp and gives good 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. Good accurate guage for baseline performance and then to see what the bomb runs look like. #ad

So my question is this, what will this do for a completly stock truck? I am a bit confused by all the different modules and what they do. Thanks for you paticience... I am learning.

HVAC, it seems this edge box and the others claim to make about the same power as the big injectors but advertise more of a torque increase, do the boxes make more low end power and the injectors more top end?
Does the Edge box take care of the boost module function or are you still limited to 20lbs. boost?
I may be interested in your discount price how do I get in touch with you?

JR2-

It has basically 3 different power levels with the stock auto transmission I would stay on the first setting. Before you can seriously upgrade your truck your transmission should be addressed.
This box doesn't use those "pesky" scotchlocks to attach to the pump lines. Go here for more information -

Busyman-

The PowerEdge Module basically does have a "Boost module" built into it. And if you get one get it from HVAC he has a excellant price right now. (I am getting mine directly from Edge).

HVAC's Email : -- email address removed --

HVAC - Any idea how much power can be attained from DD III's (A) AND a PowerEdge??? It is starting to sound VERY appealing!! Glad I found one heckuva transmission guy ! hehe

Have you had anyone try the PowerEdge WITH DD III's (A) ????? Any idea what type of power the combonation will provide? And at what point should I worry bout the input shaft on my transmission (asking because of what ya told me in that last email).

Anyone wanting a good deal on this box get in touch with HVAC - you can't beat his price (well I did hehe). #ad

Thanks for putting my email up Kat.

As a matter of fact I do know someone who runs the Stage III injectors and the Power Edge... . ME! #ad
Yup and for good measure I turn on the propane too #ad
#ad
#ad
My horsepower sensors require sledghammer like doses to register at all #ad

The hot "A" injectors are worth about 80 ponies and the Power Edge is expected to make about 80 so that would be 160 horses. I hope to get the new product on a dyno soon for better comparison.

Regarding the input shaft, I don't believe 160 more horses should break your input shaft. You can always have a bad one which will go at a lower horsepower level then the norm. I have been pretty hard on my truck and I may have 550 horsepower (dyno soon) with no problem YET. We plan to drag race it next wednesday so we'll see what happens.

<font color=teal>Welp sent off the money today Priority Mail to Brett at Edge. Now to pitch a tent outside and wait for the UPS man! I hate waiting for stuff... ... . Its going on an ETH/DEE truck before it goes on mine so I'll report back once we get it done.

*Runs out to tent next to mailbox*
