P0489 and P2262 turbo time , or ????

New turbo, original problem fixed, now new one.

I just noticed yesterday that the Lumbar portion of the seat no longer works, I hear the motor runner when I hit the switch on the side of the seat, but it does nothing. What is the fix ??
Also, anyone know where I should look for a new drivers seat?? this one is starting to get a hole on the left side where I have been sliding in all these years, this truck is in GREAT looking shape and I want to keep it that way. I think they call these seats 6 way power drivers seat ?? Thank you.

I would start with Geno's Garage... great parts, and even better service. They stock alot of motors and motor repair kits for the 6 and 10 way seats... I have replaced a few motors in the past on the 3rd gen trucks, not too bad.

If they do not have what you need, then a good upholstery shop can usually replace / repair a seat cover, I did that on my 95 bronco since the EB seats perforated parts had cracked but the rest was fine, (and cannot get them OEM anymore).

I don't know how close the 07 is to the 06 seat, but I had an actuator/motor go out on mine (the one that raises and lowers the seat height) and replaced it with a new motor I picked up from Genos. Pretty easy job (getting the roll pin out took some work tho!) and I did not have to remove the seat frame. You may want to check if they have your motor. I also picked up a factory match seat bottom cover on Ebay, and I am back to brand new!

Well, I don't think its the motor because I hear the motor running when I hit the switch, just wondering if there is a sensor or rely or something . Thanks for the advise on seat cover.

Replace the cushion at the same time, it will be done anyway after 20 years. Foam has natural deterioration over so many years, support is gone.

My motor ran but the internal worm gear ? was stripped and did not spin (thus did not lower the seat). As Ozy recommends, I had also replaced the seat cushion with the "good one" from Genos. Major difference in support!

I believe the lumbar is a pneumatic bag which inflates (motor running) by activation of the switch and deflates (hissing sounds) when the opposite switch is activated. You should check for security/function of the pneumatic "plumbing", including valves, as well as for potential air leaks.

Thanks for the advise guys, when you say seat cushion, do you mean the whole entire bottom of the seat, the piece that your rear end sits on ??

I'm sorry, excuse my ignorance, I have no idea what you are talking about, I am not a mechanic so as much as I know your trying to help me, I have no idea what your referring to. Sorry

That's why your here asking the questions! Yes, Geno's sells the foam cushion that supports your "rear end". they also have some of the factory cover options available. I'll be ordering a new cushion for my truck before to long as it's developed the "left" lean! You could also opt for a local place to make you new seat covers in a different fabric style.
Here's the cushion example for your year truck: https://www.genosgarage.com/product/seat-cushion-gg-sc0609cl/seat-cushion-durafoam

Hope that this helps with that part. Have a good weekend! :D

I was assuming you were referring to the lumbar adjuster (in the lower portion of the seat back) and was possibly pneumatic as was in my Gen 2 seats. But, I noticed you have a Gen 3. I see a mechanical lumbar was used in an '09 Gen 3. I also found an electrical version of the mechanical lumbar in 2011 and up.
Is the lower seat back the section you were referencing?

Topzide,
Thank you for your understanding, as I said before, I feel like a minor league player on the field with the pro's. I really appreciate you looking into this, it looks like the gray one might be mine, however the pic seems a little darker than mine. My truck is in the body shop right now so I won't be able to match it up till I get it back. You hit the nail on the head, mine is the same issue with the left lean as you referred to. Thanks so much .

Yes brucejohnson, the lower portion of the back of the seat, it has been working fine till recently however, its one of the things that you set it and forget it.

Pictures are always off some. There is black, gray and taupe to my knowledge, if it matches the year it will be right.

Well then, its the gray one, I will get a hold of Genos soon and place an order, you guys are awesome hear, thank you so much you guys.

The below link is from a post I did about five years ago on seat motor repair on 3rd gen.
On my lumbar support which was the manual type the pesky little threaded plastic part is the culprit.
Found one on ebay made out of nylon, that fixed it!

Thanks for the link, and all who have posted, I am getting ready to travel back to my home state, getting my truck and all my affairs in order to travel, I will post back when I am home and settled in for the summer. Wishing everyone a safe and happy summer. I think I have another thread on transmissions, I will get back to that as well. Thanks everyone
