on my 2001 the old power steering fluid needs to be flushed out and new fluid added. I have read many posts about how to flush the fluid and which fluid to use. Additionally I've read a TSB which says to use this or that fluid. Anyone have any opinion which is best: ATF4 or synthetic P. S. fluid? Does it matter

if I use the dealer brand or any brand the local parts store?

I used the valvoline syntech power steering fluid. It is readily available and I feel it is reasonably priced. It might be my imagination but my power steering pump seems to sound smoother and quieter since the oil change, especially under slow speed turning. I changed mine using the turkey baster method. I sucked all the fluid out and filled the reservoir with new oil, started the engine and turned the wheels lock to lock and shut it off and repeated the process until the fluid was clean after the start up and cycle of the steering.
Regards, Mike.
