Power Steering Pump Binding

Morning Everyone,

On days that its cold upon starting, the steering wheel is binding and you have to muscle your way out of the driveway. In a short time, the steering wheel will suddenly free itself and act normally. We changed / purged the power steering
fluid this past summer. As far as I know, all parts are original. Should I be looking at the pump, the steering box or something else ? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Separately but related, has anyone changed out the lines from the pump to the steering box with flexible or braided lines ? Do they have to remain as hard lines ?

Are you using the correct fluid ?

It could be a facr that your fluid is geling i have a littel geo storm that happened too it might be from the fluid getting condisation and just freezeing some , some people claim to use just atf but. Power steering fluid is diffrent
