At least I think it did, it's pretty tough to steer and it groans while turning and it seems to push the ps fluid through the cap! Oddly though it seems to steer a little easier when it warms up... I figgure I'm gonna have to have a go with this venomous critter this weekend. I'm thinkin i'll just change the pump and hopefully i'm all good again... anything else i could/should do in the process? Also, most places see reman units around here-is that cool or is it worth it to spend the extra $$ to get the mopar tag?

Thanks in advance guys :)

Carl, I had the same problem with my 89 what I found was you need to change the fluid to synthetic. You need to suck the old fluid out with a turkey baster, refill run engine turn wheel side to side, suck more fluid out refill keep doing this until you think you have all synthetic in system. Worked for me. Thanks Steve B.

Before this problem came along did it leak? I found mine was leaking for awhile before this happened, and I put in some Power Steering stop leak by lucas - I put that stuff in my Ferd too and so far I have not one but TWO power steering pumps not doing their job right now :{ I'm pretty sure It'd be a safe bet to say to stay the hell away from that stuff.

Thanks,

Carl

Carl. I did use that prior to the switch to synthetic, with about the same results your seeing. Thanks Steve B.
