Hello,

I've been reading the forum for a couple of months but not posted yet...

I have a few questions...

I start with a TST kit (#8 ?) for my truck. It seems to be a good product, but do you think it is safe to put this in my truck with 180000 miles on it ?

Will my transmission be ok with power and torque ? (rebuild 2 years ago with DTT valve body, DTT single disc TC, 47RE master kit, OD upgrade, billet servo and accumulator... ) Are there other companies with similar products or I should stay with TST for prices and quality ? (I see them in the TDR magazine)

An other question...

There is no TPS on my truck. It has been removed and replaced with a rotary switch in the cab because the previous owner didn't want to spend 300$ on it, the trans is still strong and I don't have to reaaly play with the switch until I have heavy load in the truck but,... I'm not very confortable with this set-up, I've already burned several transmissions in other trucks, and don't like the taste... Has anyone ever removed the TPS and replaced it with an in-cab switch ?

OK, I let you now, I have to change my fuel filter...

Thanks in advance... and forgive my english:eek:

Welcome aboard. The engine will handle the power fine don't worry about the 180k miles. I have a manual so I will defer to somebody who knows automatics to answer your transmission questions

If the transmission is in good shape, you should be OK. If it was still stock, I would be leery, but with the upgraded TC and valve body, it should be fine.

Thanks for the answers ! I think I'll go for the TST kit or BD... I've send a mail to TST 3 weeks ago but no answer... .

Now I'll wait about the TPS... someone ?

If you're going to upgrade power, you need an EGT gauge at the least. I recommend a boost gauge also. This will prevent you from burning up the engine due to too high EGT temps.

As for the TPS, if the truck drives fine with the potentiometer (rotary switch) installed, then I`d leave it. Mine still has a TPS, and it gets wacky when it rains. One day I may change mine out also. A few others here have done it with good results.

good luck

Thanks tpOd.

Potentiometer is the word I was searching for in my Harrap's dictionnary :)

About the gauges, I try to figure where to put them in the cab, on the dash would be the best place ? I like the A-pillar set-up, but I don't want to obstruct the view...
