has anyone ever installed the power wing window motors from like a caravan on an extended cab truck to get power wing windows ??

I've been wondering the same thing... I already have the motors and switches to do this. I've been searching for info on this but I guess I'll be trying to figure something out when the weather gets a little nicer.

great idea

It is a little dificult to open them while driving not to mention the rear slider and sometimes it would be nice to just push a button and let the air through.

I saw an article in a mag a while back (several years) where someone did this to a dakota.

I'm thinking I may have to look into it for my 97.

Don't they have power rear windows in the new trucks ? Wonder if it would swap in ??

I always wondered why ya needed a rear sliding window in an extended cab truck.....

They do make a power rear slider cause I have one. It's been in for about seven years and the only problem I've had with it was a new switch. Which of course they didn't sell alone. Had to buy an entire wire harness to get the same switch cause I had mounted it in the dash and could not find one either larger or the same size to go in the same hole. I think the wing window idea is a winner. I gotten so use to opening the rear window for the dogs, I have a cap, mobile kennel and six labs that allow me to go for a ride in their truck on occasion. It been well worth it for me. Because the rear window in my truck was glued in, no rubber gasket for this install, I thought that I had gotten in over my head but everything went alright and have had no issues with it, though it was a PITA. :-laf

Ha hA... . so did I.

Looks like i will be getting one here shortly.

still want the power wings tho..... they work better when it's raining

aftermarket- but am not at the shop so I don't know who makes it. If I remember right it was somewhere $250-$300. Do you think that they could have gone up that much in seven years? I'll check the price and manufacturer on Monday and post it Monday night. Pretty sure it was a different manufacturer though.
