Attention: TDR Forum Junkies Steve St. Laurent is correct in how the Jet/Fanjet Engines are started, and why the engine oil pressure is up before the engine is fired. One thing he did not touch on is the fact that every jet/fanjet engine in the world operates with syntheic oils! Petrolium oils jsut will not cut it with the temperature extremes they operate under.
