What is the best Throw Out Bearing

o-ring cost?

Any opinions yet on the new Air Dog? I was disappointed in the 2 Guys Garage episode after all the hype from Ekstram, but I do think it will be a nice unit to add to my truck.

be nice if they posted a price on the website, instead of making you sign up for the "SECRET SQUIRREL CLUB" to find out. That leaves me to believe its expensive and a bunch of hype! WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO HIDE?

I have been on the website and no price info on the Air-Dog. If I want to buy it I need to know the price. ( HINT HINT). Has anyone tried the Air-Dog yet? Not sure I want to be the first to try it. If this product is as good as they say it is a 5 year warranty should be expected. An OTR tractor usually runs at least a 100k a year which would take most of us 4-6 years to rack up that kind of mileage. A two year warranty on an OTR tractor should be worth at least 200K miles. I think that "We" should at least get a 5 year warranty. A 5 year warranty would be a huge selling incentive and lead to most of us to have confidence in our fuel pumps for once. Who is going to step up to the plate first, Air-Dog or FASS ?

I called and got the price last week.

It's about (trying to be vague) $100 more than their competitor.

If you want to be more specific PM me. I'm trying to abide by TDR rules.

By the way, when I called Eckstam worldwide I was surprised that they connected me to the man himself to answer my questions (Charles) He was very thorough and helpful with my questions. I would not hesitate to purchase his products EXCEPT the Airdog is back-ordered for about 2 weeks. I needed a pump Right away. (so I hesitated ;) )

You can call right now to get the price. They are very nice people to deal with. :)

PS: Not associated with Ekstam or any other Diesel performance company. Just a friendly consumer.

I bought one, ships 3rd week of may. I cant find where I can't say the price of a product that I bought, since I'm not selling it or not associated with the vendor..... it's $719 with everything you need to install including fuel lines. If I broke a rule please delete.

The Preporator sight now has the price listed... . $679 for under 400hp and $719 for over 400hp. . Is it worth it??

I too was VERY disappointed in the Two Guys Garage Show featuring the Air Dog system. Why on earth after all the talk about the gains in HP/TQ that is advertised for this system, would they not dyno it, right there in front of everyone on TV to PROVE it. Makes one believe maybe there isnt any gains by it. I have been involved with many threads between the FASS system and the Preporator system, and its just a disappointment that the claims weren't backed up. Sorry but the dyno results for a class 7-8 truck do me no good as I DONT HAVE A CLASS 7-8 Truck.

Oh well, just left even more room for speculation of the system. I think I'll stick with what I have for now until it gives up and then Ill look at what is in the market at that time. So far, I like what I have.

I would still like to find out what the size difference is between the Air Dog and the one for the class 8 trucks on the highway. Where do you get the filters at... . that type of thing.

The "heater" the FASS has is a passage in the unit that would allow you to plumb engine coolant through it to heat it. I think it is a nice idea but won't help if the fuel gels and you can't start the engine to warm up the coolant! I am having an adapter machined to re-use my fuel filter canister so I have the electric fule heater and WIF sensor. I'll try and post pic;s when I get the part.

We installed our Preporator systems using the stock fuel filter bowl, heater and WIF setup. I wouldn't do it any other way.

Yeah, and I got rid of mine and now am going looking for the bowl and pump ( needed a new one anyway ). I want to do this in case ( knock on wood ) anything would happen to the FASS, and I wouldn't be stranded. Know where I can get a bowl?

Don

What ever filter setup you use... you have to heat the fuel before it contacts the filter. That holds true in fuel before it arrives to the FASS. If your not... gelled fuel will wax up the first filter of the FASS and surely the second. Simply heating the fuel up by the engine using the OEM filter heater will only get you so far before the FASS is waxed.

On mine... before my fuel enters the Stanadyne FM100 prefilter it flows across a Stanadyne 150W coil heater. Then it gets pulled through the prefilter, to the lift pump, then passes over another 150W heater coil before going into the Stanadyne FM100 final 5 micron filter. Without this... I'd be in trouble in severe cold. Performance Formula helps reduce gelling for sure... and the heaters may not be necessary. But if I'm not able to give a fuel load a dose on the road... I'd be waxing up.

I've done Mason jar experiments with diesel. At -10 degrees... you can plainly see a normal filter would soon be in trouble without heat.

Kinda surprised not to see any chatter on this new product. Has anyone installed one yet? Interesting info about heating the fuel, how do the big rigs heat their fuel?

I don't believe there are any actual "Air Dog" units out there yet, as they haven't started shipping them for some reason last I checked. I would like to hear some feedback on operation/installation also as that, or the competitor, is my next proposed mod... . very soon.

FYI, the AirDog has started shipping today! Several models are available, standard FP-80 for mild HP mods and the FP-80hp for high performance engines. We have been preparing the AirDog to be the highest quality and most comprehensive fuel filtration and supply system ever presented to the stock and high performance 5. 9 Cummins Diesel Engine market. I appologize for the delay!!

We have been preparing a number of installation accessories (included with the product) to make the installation process a happy experience. Every effort has been made to create the best product for you at the most affordable price! July 17th, we will be in Corona, California with the Southern Cal Ratt'lin Rams with working demos to show you why the AirDog has made so much HYPE!

Thanks for your patience!

Charlie

What is the price????? What hp are each of the models good for?? I believe you need to put a lot more info on this topic because if people are going to buy them then this is where most start to get good information.

How about integrating an electric fuel heater like the oem unit? Not having one would prevent me from using one here in the cold northeast.

Another Option...

Consider adding an electric in-line fuel heater. Racor Nomad™ Electric Diesel Fuel Heater, model number 14278. Rated 300 watts and automatic operation. Oo.

Heater in Cummins fuel filter housing is rated 300 watts.
