I'm so terribly disappointed in President Bush's speechs. If ever there was a time to have a defining moment in his or any Presidency NOW is the time! He's had two chances and has yet to give one of those memory quoting statements like FDR gave! He needs to give a joint statement to the Congress in an empassioned, hand pounding, finger pointing speech. I remember when Nikita Khrushchev said "We're going to Bury You!" I remember him pounding his fist on the table as though it were yesterday. Also even though I wasn't alive, when I see FDR giving the Pearl Harbor Speech, well that was history and stired us on to victory.

Sure maybe Bush can't be as good a showman as FDR - but can't his writers come up with something more appropriate? Can't they give him a style and if not now - When?????

Find out who wrote for Powell in Desert Storm when he said about the IRAQ army . . "First we're going to find it and then we're going to Kill it!"

America needs something to hang our hats on right now and we can't be taking the route like we did with the US Cole or all the other disasters under Mr. C! We need to be totally decisive and ruthless.

I have 5 in-laws who are mainline plane drivers - two 757's, two 737's and a 767. The Driver of the Pittsburgh Plane was a best friend of my brother-in-law. It looks like they may have to attend a funeral with no body. What a great way for kids to say goodbye to their Dad! I hate those *******s - and for giving a measured response - I'd measure it all right - in the Thousands of Megatons!

Like I said Bush needs to take off the panties and get this guy at all costs. Not just for revenge but for all the future deaths he is going to cause. Do you think he is going to stop killing? I would like to have him captured and thrown in general population and let the "boys" try him on for size.

behind the scenes things are happening

being in the military, the news isn't getting out about what's going on. Afghanistan should not be on your travel plans. :) I think Bush is just putting on a good image to hide the rage that is hidden inside. Norman S. let it slip last night, you could just see the anger in his face.

I have to agree with Metal Tech on this one - I saw the look on Dubya's face when he was sitting in the Florida classroom and was told of the second plane hitting the second tower. You could tell that he was one highly pi$$ed off individual. I think he is just doing a d@mn good job of being calm, cool, and collected.

I watched Tom Brokaw interview Retired General Norman Schwarzkopf yesterday. I like the way that man talks; with conviction and right to the point.

Doc

When you're holding all the aces, you don't smile and show your cards to your opponent. ;)

Give the "machine" a chance to "get the boost up". ;)

The caca is preparing to hit the fan :D

Talk softly and carry a BIG STICK

Our previous president shouted his lungs out and whipped them with a wet noodle.

When I see the application of the big stick, i'll know if Bush is doing good or bad. The Big Stick is easy to understand, and when used right, utterly clear and unmistakeable. It also gets their attention, so that when you speak softly, they listen.

Uncle Joe - boy are you right

Showing my age - man you are right..... it was his shoe. I hope folks don't think I was bashing Bush - I guess I just want some emotions - I saw that tonight when he interviewed the newsmedia. Maybe right now all we need is a Rogue "Bommer Skipper" and crew is all we need.

That was in reference to a reporter's question about the "Elite Republican Guard", and the quote was, "First, we're going to cut it off, and then we're gonna kill it. "

(meaning that he would cut the supply lines, and then, once the ERG was isolated, annihilate (sp) it)... . no writer gave him that. That was Powell. ----Then he went-n-did it!

Where are they

We have to find them before we cannuke them.

If our Last Pres Bush had gone on to Bagdad our problems would be much smaller today.

There's a whole lotta "ifs" in the world that we wish didn't exist, aren't there?

Unfortunately, the agreement prior to the action didn't allow for that. Old Bush honored the agreement, much to the chagrin of all that didn't like it, like you, and like me. I wonder if his poll-driven successor would have honored that agreement. Can you imagine, at this moment, how much cooperation we'd get from other countries today, if that agreement had been spit on ten years ago? Our problems might actually be bigger.

I think assassination will be included in an agreement this time around. All of Saddam Hussein's neighbors have learned.
