I'm so terribly disappointed in President Bush's speechs. If ever there was a time to have a defining moment in his or any Presidency NOW is the time! He's had two chances and has yet to give one of those memory quoting statements like FDR gave! He needs to give a joint statement to the Congress in an empassioned, hand pounding, finger pointing speech. I remember when Nikita Khrushchev said "We're going to Bury You!" I remember him pounding his fist on the table as though it were yesterday. Also even though I wasn't alive, when I see FDR giving the Pearl Harbor Speech, well that was history and stired us on to victory.
Sure maybe Bush can't be as good a showman as FDR - but can't his writers come up with something more appropriate? Can't they give him a style and if not now - When?????
Find out who wrote for Powell in Desert Storm when he said about the IRAQ army . . "First we're going to find it and then we're going to Kill it!"
America needs something to hang our hats on right now and we can't be taking the route like we did with the US Cole or all the other disasters under Mr. C! We need to be totally decisive and ruthless.
I have 5 in-laws who are mainline plane drivers - two 757's, two 737's and a 767. The Driver of the Pittsburgh Plane was a best friend of my brother-in-law. It looks like they may have to attend a funeral with no body. What a great way for kids to say goodbye to their Dad! I hate those *******s - and for giving a measured response - I'd measure it all right - in the Thousands of Megatons!
