"If Your Not With Us Your Against Us"

My favorite Line of the hole speech

Didn't you guys think Hillary looked pretty tonight?

NOT

:D  :D  :D  :D

Hillary

Hillary looked like she had just ran a 90 yard dash in a 80 yard gym:D   :D

I am proud of BUSH and proud to be an American!!!

Now, let's kick some... ... ... ... ... .....

IMHO GREAT SPEECH! Too bad such a tragedy had to take place before we cut thru the fog and can see clearly now. I am 66 years old and I know I can sacrifice anything and everything to see the demise of evil.

except that 40' flagpole! gotta keep that...

I'm just happy to have, in the opinion of the liberal press, an inarticulate, unintellingent primate in the White House... . Now we can take the "r" out of Oval Office and, when there's a speech, we don't have to rummage thru an infinite number of multiplied double and triple meanings just to decipher a paragraph of speech... .

He says what he means. There's no "gray area". He has condemned the Taliban. He has clearly and cleanly delineated the criteria by which we can identify "friend" or "foe". I suspect that he intends to close and discard all of the previous administrations's political traps, including, and primarily, the Taliban, and ObL... . Both were empowered by the US during the Soviet occupation, when, apparently due to some gross lack of insight into the Middle-Eastern mind, we fell into this trap:

" The enemy of my enemy is my friend. " ... . NO he's NOT!

ObL and the Taliban were enemies of the Soviet Union. We were enemies of the Soviet Union. We treated the T'ban and ObL as friends... . oops!

Did the same thing in Iraq. Iraq was (is) Iran's enemy. Post-Shah Iran was our enemy, therefore, Iraq must be our friend... . NO, again!

All over the world, to one extent or another, we've brought, baited, set, and tripped that same trap between many nations, factions, and groups. Every time, we've sustained the most damage and embarrassment of anyone involved.

It would appear that "W" (or some close advisor(s)) has studied this, and vowed never to follow that path again... . Good for him/Good for us..... May God continue the blessings. One that's been collected already is the fact that Al Gore is not the one who was at the podium tonight!!!

It's up to us to capitalize (no pun intended) on the blessings that God has granted... remember the parable of the 3 servants and the 3 talents of silver... . in the New Testament somewhere, and I don't remember chapter and verse, only content.

One took the 1 talent of silver, invested and managed it, and returned 10 to the :) master.

2nd guy did the same, not quite as well, but still OK--returned 5 to the :) master

3rd buried it under a rock, and returned 1 for 1... the master was  and fired him for his lack of productivity... Let's not be guy #3..... rm

.....what can I say?

... best Presidential speach I've ever heard!

..... proud to be an American

..... proud to say I voted for W. (he is everything I thought he'd be and more... he comes from "good stock")

..... I still miss George Sr. though (and especially my all time favorite First Lady. . Barbara Bush... they don't come any better than her!)

..... extremely glad that eight (long) years of Clinton are finally over (I would still like to see him and Hillary prosecuted for White Water and especially the "untimely" death of Vince Foster... if only the truth were known!)

John. I am with you on this.

Rich. The 40' is in the garage in pieces. Will weld, dig, cement and put it up to stay up as long as I live!

LONG LIVE AMERICA!

Hillary looked as if she didnt want to be there and could barely muster some good hand clapping...

I felt some how she was disappointed, reading her body language..... in as , that should have been her "Bill" so she could have rode the wave to better her public standing...

I don't know what it was, but she did not give off a good showing.

On the other hand President Bush was great, fantastic...

I also feel his strong family bonds will only help, I like SR... .

Never like "Bill".

I think it was some one on the board put it best. .

When they went to Bill for comments, within 5 minutes he mentioned himself 11 times. When the President has spoken about 9-11-01, NYC and DC, he nevered mentioned himself.

"Bill" could come out with 1K more words / minute than the President on a candid comment, but never really said anything.

Recently I've seen the President choose his words, few but like a picture.

I"ve heard some say he should speak in public with out being prepared 1st, since he doesn't come off articulate and when he does speak, they didnt see any meaning in his body language ... you just need to look into his eyes... he doesnt really talk with his hands. . a lot of people dont. but I see it in his face and eyes.

Bill need to move his hands so you wouldnt look into his face and eyes. . he was afraid to have any one look there and find the truth. . "... I didn't have sexual relations with her... " , that night we all said, ya right... .

bill vs bush

c'mon guys--bill was entertaining, and you could always tell when he was lying--ANY TIME HIS LIPS WERE MOVING, OR HIS PANTS WERE DOWN. :) i'm surprised that hillary hasn't dumped the creep. she may be afraid of him and his connections?? remember the list of bill's "friends", who died "mysteriously"? the one i liked best, was the one that died of "natural causes" with a bullet in his brain. OF COURSE!! if you get a bullet in your brain, naturally, you die.

The only thing that I can comment on is from another perspective.

After hundreds of millions of dollars were donated from Canada, rescue workers send down, vigils held in your honor here, there were many Canadians who were a little bit hurt that he mentioned about 30 countries OTHER than Canada thanking them for their help and support.

We don't do it for recognition to be sure, but was a bit odd.

Your right, I noticed it too and felt that it might come up on the board. I felt a twinge at the moment for you...

I hope I exprerssed my thanfullness as an American in my post, just after 9-11-01.

I knew every BB I posted my message of thanks to Canada, many followed and added to the post with the same feelings and started their own threads to get their message of thanks seen.

Not one bad word was ever added or even hinted at.

I'm sure there are many other nations he did not mentioned and many others I didn't thank.

Maybe some others that heard the list of countries can add to this... ??

Since it was an address about the "War"... .

Did all the countries he mention offer military support as well as other support?

I don't know either way - has Canada offered military support?

Was it a mix bag?

He very specificaly pointed out the British, and they've always fought side by side with us ever time we've asked, never a question as far as I know.

gratitude

shawn----

i doubt it was an intended "slight". we in the USA know we can always count on our good neighbors to the north. in a world where many countries carry on constant conflict with their border countries, we are especially blessed to continue to have a good relationship with Canada. i didn't have anyone directly connected with or in the areas hit, but let me express my personal thanks for your support--past, present, and future. THANKS!!:)

Did you see the Bill mocking?

Bush made a "Clinton like" right closed hand gesture. The camera then made a cut to Hillary where she was commenting and did not look too happy.

Am I alone here?

Shawn! When he was naming the countries I was thinking to myself. "I sure hope he does not leave out mentioning a country"

CANADA IS OUR FRIEND AND IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTED IN HIS SPEECH.
