IMHO GREAT SPEECH! Too bad such a tragedy had to take place before we cut thru the fog and can see clearly now. I am 66 years old and I know I can sacrifice anything and everything to see the demise of evil.
except that 40' flagpole! gotta keep that...
I'm just happy to have, in the opinion of the liberal press, an inarticulate, unintellingent primate in the White House... . Now we can take the "r" out of Oval Office and, when there's a speech, we don't have to rummage thru an infinite number of multiplied double and triple meanings just to decipher a paragraph of speech... .
He says what he means. There's no "gray area". He has condemned the Taliban. He has clearly and cleanly delineated the criteria by which we can identify "friend" or "foe". I suspect that he intends to close and discard all of the previous administrations's political traps, including, and primarily, the Taliban, and ObL... . Both were empowered by the US during the Soviet occupation, when, apparently due to some gross lack of insight into the Middle-Eastern mind, we fell into this trap:
" The enemy of my enemy is my friend. " ... . NO he's NOT!
ObL and the Taliban were enemies of the Soviet Union. We were enemies of the Soviet Union. We treated the T'ban and ObL as friends... . oops!
Did the same thing in Iraq. Iraq was (is) Iran's enemy. Post-Shah Iran was our enemy, therefore, Iraq must be our friend... . NO, again!
All over the world, to one extent or another, we've brought, baited, set, and tripped that same trap between many nations, factions, and groups. Every time, we've sustained the most damage and embarrassment of anyone involved.
It would appear that "W" (or some close advisor(s)) has studied this, and vowed never to follow that path again... . Good for him/Good for us..... May God continue the blessings. One that's been collected already is the fact that Al Gore is not the one who was at the podium tonight!!!
It's up to us to capitalize (no pun intended) on the blessings that God has granted... remember the parable of the 3 servants and the 3 talents of silver... . in the New Testament somewhere, and I don't remember chapter and verse, only content.
One took the 1 talent of silver, invested and managed it, and returned 10 to the

master.
2nd guy did the same, not quite as well, but still OK--returned 5 to the

master
3rd buried it under a rock, and returned 1 for 1... the master was

and fired him for his lack of productivity... Let's not be guy #3..... rm
