I've always changed lift pumps at 10 PSI at an idle on the post (new) filter side, and use Power Serve fuel treatment/ lubricant in every tank, and kept a new spare LP under the rear seat.

Now that I have a FASS system we will see how long it will last, and if presures will stay up, of course I will be changing VP's soon.

My fuel system was also upgraded at the beginning of its life with RayTs banjo's and then to 3/8s fuel line with a&n fittings, and this truck has always gotten the best of hands on care, and still went through 6 lift pumps and now on to the third VP 44, in 150,000 miles.

About 8psi before I change the lift pump. I bought the truck with 87,000 miles on it. I did not find out about the LP problems until about 110,000 miles. So when I checked mine I was pulling negative numbers at the LP. Who knows how long I had been driving it or how long the previous owner had been driving it with a bad LP.

Well Jeff, where do I get one and what makes it more reliable, I was told by Cummins that my Edge Comp was the reason for my pump failurs, but I dont believe that BS, becouse my first pump went and I was all stock then & my friend has had 2 VP 44's on his 2001 and he is all stock.

I sent you a PM. I am sure the comp had something to do with the pumps going out, any extra fueling box will hurt the duty cycle. I am wondering how you have your comp hooked up? What makes this one more reliable? The tolerances are much much tighter than our stock pumps are. They also make alot more power than the stock pumps so you'll already be farther up the power curve which might cure the HP hunger some, protecting duty cycle. For more info call the guy, this stuff is to complicated for me to totally understand but this guy knows his stuff!!

My comp is hooked up as per Edge instructions with the pump wire pierced with the scotch lock. I keep all connections clean and well lubed up with dielectric grease where required.

I usually run around on level # 3 and tow on 1 or off depending on the elevation of where I'm at. I have only gone to level five on two occasions just for a test run.
