I've always changed lift pumps at 10 PSI at an idle on the post (new) filter side, and use Power Serve fuel treatment/ lubricant in every tank, and kept a new spare LP under the rear seat.
Now that I have a FASS system we will see how long it will last, and if presures will stay up, of course I will be changing VP's soon.
My fuel system was also upgraded at the beginning of its life with RayTs banjo's and then to 3/8s fuel line with a&n fittings, and this truck has always gotten the best of hands on care, and still went through 6 lift pumps and now on to the third VP 44, in 150,000 miles.
