Ok. Today I was sitting behind a car at a stop sign on a slight incline. I went to move forward and all the truck did was rev (up to 2000rpm). I let off the pedal (the truck did not move backward like it would if the transmission was in neutral), pushed back down on the pedal and the truck finally moved sluggishly at first but faster when she got moving (rpm about 1500-1600). I have a 4 speed auto 47RE that had a very small, slow leak from the temp probe in the 95 cooler line. I checked the fluid the other day and she was full with no leak from the temp probe. Could my transmission be going south? I don't tow but occassionally haul my 4 wheeler in the back (once last summer). What if anything can I do to forestall the future transmission replacement? Can adjusting the transmission bands help?
It sure sucks to be on an island where I have no ATS or DTT shops. How hard is it to swap out trannys or TC's and how do I determine that is exactly the problem?
thanks in advance
