Here I am

problem with my TAG

need seats

I serviced my truck today. When I took my Scotty II out to clean it the tag was in the turbo boot sideways. It looks like it got into the bolt that holds the impeller blade in. A few chunks missing on the tag but I did'nt see any damage to the fins inside the turbo.

I have barked the turbo & have hit an over boost code before. I'm not sure if it was do to barking the turbo that caused it to get pushed out sideways.

It was mounted in the end of the turbo flange Bob. I think back pressure from barking the turbo pushed it out into the turbo boot, turned it sideways then got sucked back into the housing where it got nicked by the impeller bolt that holds the spinny thing in.

TAG you're it

I thought it was just me . I also found my TAG sideways in the tube, but it did not contact the turbo. I noticed it while removing the tube to swap in the BHAF and chalked it up to having moved things around. I re-read the installation instructions to make sure I oriented it correctly. As far as I know, I don't bark the turbo. I'm not in the habit of spooling up big and getting off the throttle in a hurry. Now I'll have to check more regularly

I would take that "TAG" and huck it in the garbage, I dont want to risk my turbo for a product some people say is a joke. TAG stands for " turbo air guide" right? Sounds like " turbo air garbage" Keep the turbos safe.

I just got off the phone with Diesel Power Products & they are sending me another Tag. You can't beat service like that.

I know there are a few skeptics out there about this product, but I do understand the theory & I have noticed the benefits. I will take their suggestion and put another clamp around the boot where the TAG fits in the grove.

Well, there are people that are known to buy 2 or 3 of the same product and still be thrilled with the performance. Hmm...

I dont know if i would risk my $1,000 dollar hybrid, let alone a $6,000 motor????

Can't complain, service is great, I am glad they are standing behind their product. That is a rare quality these days...

You mean your gonna put another one in! Turbo Air Grenader! You speak of noticing the benifits, like what?

TAG

The little parts of the TAG did you find them in the tail pipe ? And will you install a new one if the one turns out like the last one? I think the bumps in the air hose cause the air to bounce and if you put a small TAG in the way sooner or later the turbo will eat some or all of it ,Your choice ,every one is worried as to the size of the air holes in the filter or if its working by the sight glass and change the filter too often ( guess they have more money ) but putting a thing like that in front of the turbo Wow. Ron Bissett in metro Louisville Ky P. S the other side of the Turbo seems to work OK and it runs on Exhaust gas without tag to straighten out the flow . Also the cost of a replacement could not be one tenth of the price paid . ?Ron.

Quicker spool up, 1. 5 more mpg when towing, & pulls the hills better with 12,000 lbs behind me. This has all been recorded with many pulls of my 5vr. This is my tow vehicle not my daily driver. So she's hooked 90% of the time. I found a few flakes of aluminum in the air cleaner the rest more than likely went out the tail pipe, no sings of damage to the impeller or play in the blade.

Many thought the world was flat & were afraid to venture out.

Columbus never had a turbo on his ship though, I respect your info but at the same time, how in the hell could this "dealie" make a difference? Once the turbo grabs all of that air its gonna cram it into the intercooler and to the engine the same. Its kind of like that "Tornado" deal for gassers.

All Im sayin is that if that thing were to come loose and suck through the turbo your world would be flat because the cummins could potentially suck in all that garbage when the turbo grenaded.....

Columbus never had a turbo on his ship though, He should have taken some lessons from Noah. . Blown, turbo'd and aftercooled, with counter rotating props. ( The animals loved to stick their heads out!). Sorry. . had to do it. Now I am going to the garage to pull out my Tag. See ya on E-bay

a suggestion

When you put er on E-Bay do not include this thread as a link for info. Cause she aint sellin with what we have done here today.

I would like to take this time to make one thing clear, I wasnt ragging on you at all. We are all members with the interest in mind to take care of the Cummins. I just dont want to see a Cummins die because of a stupid product, let the Powerchockers do that.

Well I could sit here & talk until I'm blue in the face but that would not convince you of the theory behind the TAG. Do a little research there is plenty of info out there especially in large turbin engines. This technology is not new. There is no way this device is going to get sucked thru the turbo. Yes some pieces were chipped off from coming in contact with the impeller bolt, not a comon event if secured properly.

Senica once said " Many would attain to wisdom had they not thought they attained it already"

So before I jump on the band wagon I like to do a little research.

Yep they work good in a WIND TUNNEL, when properly mounted and installed in a CONTROLLED environment. Looks to me like inadequate provisions are made for properly mounting the Granader
