What do you carry in your pockets?

Choking...

I have seen other people deal with this.

Where I live, you are allowed to burn trash (as long as its in a barrel). the one neighbor takes old barns and turns them into Chestnut flooring, beams, etc. I think someone complained about him burning scraps. Now he has a wood stove he burns the scraps in. He runs the stove with the lowest heat he can, this causes that massive stinky smoke that just sticks around the area. He has been running this stove for the past year 24X7.

I get a kick out of the city slickers moving in that complain about the smell of when the Amish clean the barns and spread it on the fields. (I have to admit that chicken cleanings just don't smell natural though). These city slickers even call the cops to pick dead skunks up off the road.

Do you know who is complaining? I heard where someone had that problem and knew who it was. He put a "for sale by owner" sign in front of his house, and planned out that when he knew this guy was going to be home, he had his buddy and his large family (enter race that your neighbor hates) stop by to check out the home. They turned the kids loose on the yard where the neighbor could watch them as the adults were shown the house for a couple hours.

I have a few ideas on how to get even like bring my trailer home every couple days for 48hrs and then return it to storage just to **** them off, but I dont like looking at the trailer either so I brought it home yesterday and was already tired of looking at it so I put it back in storage this morning.

What I want to do is have 4 yards of horse manuer delivered to the whiners front yard when he's not home, but I dont want to push my luck... What I will most likely do, is I am within a year or less of paying off my house so at that time I will probably paint it something that clashes with the neighborhood and then rent it out to a sorority or something:-laf

and then go buy a house with neighbors not so close.

Instead of pink and purple, I recommend smurf blue. I've seen smurf blue done, and pink and purple, and I have to say that smurf blue looks way worse than the pink.

For those that aren't familiar with Smurfs - it's like sky blue, only borderline flourescent and a little darker.

Speaking of flourescent - you could also try hunter orange with a mustard trim.

I'll stop putting fuel on the fire now.

Dirty trick time....

What do you think is up with the world/people today and the moronic things people do and make the rest of our lives a pain in the ...

I have a 30' 5er that has not been at my home for 7 months now and I went camping last weekend and left it streetside beside my home for 2 days before returning it to storage and one of my stuck up snotty neighbors called the police and complained about it being there to long, and on top of that I have parked my truck in front of my house in the exact same spot for 8 years and now I was told by the police officer that I can not park my truck there anymore unless I am at least 15 feet away from the fire hydrant. I have been 8 to 10 feet away from it for 8 years and I even asked my local police dept. about it a few years ago and they said I was o. k. parking there.

This happened a few years ago one of my neighbors called 5 times over a 6 month period about my little 10 foot work trailer that only comes home when I have a weekend side job and is only out front from about 6p. m. til 7a. m. the next morning and then goes back to storage, I took care of things that time with a 4x6 white sign with 4" letters and titled

"GOOD NEIGHBORS 101"

IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH YOUR NEIGHBOR, DO YOU

A: CALL THE POLICE

OR

B: TALK TO YOUR NEIGHBOR

THE CORRECT ANSWER IS "B"

HAVE A GREAT DAY

After I put this sign in my front yard for about 3-4 months no one would call any more although one neighbor asked at a 4th of July party what I would do if the calls did not stop, which I replied " I will paint my house purple with pink trim" they said you cant do that it will depreciate your house... No it wont I AM NOT SELLING. 3

I guess it is time to shop for purple paint this weekend although I dont think I will paint the whole house but since I am on a corner lot, I think I will paint the side of my house that everyone sees as they drive in and out of the neighborhood and then in big white letters spell out "IF YOU DID NOT LIKE MY TRAILER FOR A DAY OR TWO, HOW DO YOU LIKE THIS!

I know someone here will reply saying I am the problem and that people like me make the neighborhood look bad but I got you there too cause I have the nicest house in the neighborhood, if anything I should be complaining about everyone else. But I believe if people should get along and communicate with each other but it seems we are becoming a world of cell phones video games tv and dont talk to your neighbor type of people, just go to work come home pull in your garage and hide in your house and complain about others instead of working to better your own life.

:-{} rant almost over

There is nothing like calling the power company giving your neighbors address and asking to turn power off? Or putting ad in paper for garage sale (again neighbors address), Come early, come right in, sale in backyard! Reports of crack sales in neighborhood brings some attention to neighbors also. I wouldn't paint my house, you have to look at it to.

Retaliation and trying to get even is wrong.

You should always do the right thing. That way, you are above and ahead of all those nasty neighbors.

Some people really have no life. I am glad my neighbors are not too close to me. In fact I have been watching the paper for some acreage further away from city life.

I guess the phrase "How do you like me now" comes to mind with CF's problem... after he makes some changes. . :-laf

It's not exactly retalliation... I would say I am jus t going to try harder to be a bigger pain in their arse than they are in mine :-laf

The purple and pink trim wouldn't do any good here in Texas, as we have plenty of bizarre colorful house paint schemes thanks to our huge influx of folks from south of the border. It is not uncommon to see houses painted lime green with pink trim, or bright yellow with red. Like gypsy wagons almost.

I feel for the OP in having neighbors on him that way, but truthfully it's not the people that have changed - there have ALWAYS been nosy and spiteful neighbors, remember Ms. Kravitz on "Bewitched"? The difference is that in days gone by there weren't so many things that were illegal that a Kravitz could ding you for. Nowadays with the mania for deed restrictions, neighborhood covenants, local ordinances, etc etc etc there are HUNDREDS of things that a person can get dinged for. The nosy bored retirees and super organized soccer moms thrive on digging through that sort of crapola and finding things to ding the neighbors on.

The best approach IMHO is to take a page from their own book and follow the letter of the law EXACTLY. If the ordinance says that you can't have a trailer parked on the street except for X hours a day, park the trailer there EVERY DAY and put out the word that it will continue until people decide they can stand having it there when you prep for a trip. If you read the ordinance closely you might find that you can park ANYWHERE on your street, so if you know who complained park in front of THEIR house. Same thing with yard mowing, if somebody dings you because your grass gets too high while you are on a trip and you get a ticket, get a yardstick and make a big production out of going outside every day and measuring it and not cutting it until it is absolutely the tallest legal. Works better if you wear hideous bermuda shorts pulled up to your armpits too :-laf. Afterwards get a clipboard and walk slowly around the neighborhood measuring everybody's grass, looking gravely concerned and jotting down notes.

If you can find out who called the cops, get a list of the ordinances and learn them by heart and use the same tactics against them.

This sort of thing goes against the grain of a lot of folks, but if you don't take action they will never learn the error of their ways. Turnabout is fair play.

Jeeze... here in non-communist rural Iowa we dont have to mow our lawns, we can paint our houses any color we want, raise pot bellied pigs in a dog house, pee off our FRONT deck, shoot high power guns day or night, let our kids swim naked in the river, and smoke in our bars and restaurants. Gosh I sure love this rural life!

"pee off our FRONT deck"

Now that is what the feeling of freedom is all about! I lived in a subdivision paying association dues. Got fed up with them coming by saying I never got permission to put those new plants in my yard. Bought a place way out of town and still remember our first night here. I stepped out the front door and the wife says WHAT ARE YOU DOING! I said it's my property and I can pee on it if I want.

Some might call that redneck... ... ... . :-laf, but I like the freedom to do as I please myself.

A freind of mine is busy helping his mother clean out a house to sell off personal property to raise money for his mother's cousin. There is some high value stuff there ,but the guy is a packrat with a trashy home exterior and cannot really help out due to terminal illness. The city has no problem with them in their efforts to clean up,but a nosy neighbor wants everything fixed right away, even though the neglect has been going on for some time.

Nosy neighbor comes over and informs them that a ''bunch of Mexicans were walking around, looking at the place'' My buddy tells her that it is nice that they are still interested. He then told her that they only have a few more days to get the security deposit together so they can rent the place:-laf:-laf She just about had a coronary.

Of course,he then took out the really valuable stuff out right away,in case these guys were up to no good.
