i took a prodigy out of and 03 3500 auto and put it in a 04 3500 6 spd. now the trailer brakes only work if you manually stop. hit truck brakes no trailer brakes. anyone have a suggestion.
I assume you have the tow package with factory brake wiring plug under the dash. I took my Prodigy out of my '97 and put it in my 2004. It would not work at first. I found the CHMSL (center high mounted stop light) fuse blown. It is in fuse position 24 on my truck. That is the circuit which supplies sense voltage from the brake light switch to the brake controller thru the factory harness. I had a friend who also had the same problem. I replaced the fuse and have had no further problem.
If you need to check your Prodigy wiring you can get the schematic at
When I took my Prodigy from my prior ride and put it in my 03, I didn't have juice to the brakes. Turned out to be a fuse. . I think it was a 40A one of the taller rectangular ones in the fuse box by the driver's side battery. Kind of hard to see that it was blown, but replaced it, and voila... worked great.
