Towing Mirrors, Which one?

WOWSERS, I couldn't believe it until I got my own! The first thing I did was run up and down a 14% hill in the area and braking was perfectly smooth both ways. Panic stops are the same - never any jerking. Boost is on B1. B2 causes some grabbing in stop and go city traffic. I'd like to know where everyone is setting the initial voltage. 6-7 volts won't even come close to locking the brakes but does a good job in real braking situations. Near lockup(about 10 volts) at 25 mph, like the destructions say, is way too much. The in-laws just bought a new rv and got the Prodigy. The rv shop set theirs so the trailer barely stops the combined units(using the manual lever) when rolling slowly - that is only about 2-3 volts. I tried that and braking was on the weak side. It's hard to feel much difference unless it's changed drasticly. At first I thought... who cares if it works in reverse, until I stopped on a steep upgrade. The trailer didn't jerk the h@ll out of the truck at the point of complete stop. :D :D Craig

prodigy report

I have been reading the good reports of the Prodigy and have all but been convinced this is the controller to get. I currently own a Voyager and have been less than satisfied with its performance. Is the wiring from one controller to another just a change over or does it get more complicated than that? The present controller seems to grab at low speeds, but not enough at higher speeds, so something has got to change.

How many Volts?

I don't remember - it's been over a winter since I've used mine last :(

I only use the boost feature when off-road. The boost works great when I'm on dirt/gravel roads. I can cruise faster, then when ruts come, hit the brakes and whoa-la, I'm at the speed I need to be at - pretty trick! (Did I use the term right? )

I think it's set on 9. x volts for my 21' 2-axle trailer. I can use my new Sony CyberShot camera to take a pic of the connectors if you'd like (after memorial weekend tho!)

Have a great weekend!

I have a 94' TT and have never checked the brakes and I have to run mine on 12V. I have boost on 2. I love mine, the best thing for towing, next to the 2001 tow mirrors I installed.

Never go back to another brake controller, especially since it has lifetime warranty.
