Do people that post too much get on your nerves ?

Rate the looks of the new 2500/3500

Please read examples A & B:

A: Subject kidnaps, rapes and murders young child and gets caught, he "plea bargains" and/or pleads guilty by reason of insanity, is proven, (beyond a resonable doubt), guilty. Get a life sentance without possibilty of parole. It costs you and I $60K+ a year to keep him in prison... . he still is a burden to our society.

B: Subject kidnaps, rapes and murders young child and gets caught, tried, found guilty, sentenced to death. The sentence is upheld, the cost, (burden), to society is minimal. AND HE WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN.

If the above sentance is held in public I do believe it is a deterrent.

Oversimplified? Perhaps. But, afterall if you do not weed your garden constantly the weeds take over. Do you "save" garbage? No you rid yourself of it!

One last thing. Many are "bleeding hearts" until their loves ones or self are the victim... Wake the phuck up!

Edit/P. S. Vaughn, doesn't Utah still "take out the trash"?

Sorry you will have a rough time labeling me as a bleeding heart, as my form of punishment is real time compared to getting off easy by going to sleep on a table.

I have a question for you CF.

Would you be opposed to taking away the inmates cable TV, air conditioning, and all the other creature comforts that are lavishly given to them (on our dime)while theyre in prison?

I saw a show on Sherrif Joe Arpayo (sp?) in Arizona.

Only thing I can say after seeing him in action is..... He needs to be in charge of EVERY prison!!!!!

Eric

Oh BTW did you know that inmates are allowed to vote here in NJ? Whats wrong with that picture?

That's part of the problem. They shouldn't have any of these freedoms or comforts to begin with. As a matter of fact, I would like to see ALL of their American and Human Rights taken away while they are in prision for as long as they are in our jails.

I love our Sheriff Joe. I think he has the answer. He will not baby the inmates. He does whatever he can to save the taxpayers money while keeping the incarcerated. He was once called by some meat processor that had a ton of Bologna that had something go wrong in processing and it turned green. Nothing wrong except the color. He bought it and fed it to the inmates. He took their TVs away and the bleeding hearts sues him. The judge ruled against him, so he went out and bought the smallest tv he could find. Can you see 300 convicts crowded around a two inch tv? He can get military surplus tents, so a lot of them live in tents in the desert sun. Bleeding hearts screaming their heads off!!!! Why is it OK to send our children to boot camp, where they may have to eat worms, snakes, monkeys or whatever they find, suffer through sleep deprivation, and live in tents? But these bottom dwellers must have great living conditions in prison. If you figure it out, please let me know.

Once

Once you commit a crime and are sent to prison, ALL your rights as an American citizen should be forfited, PERIOD. You should HAVE to work for your keep. Now the choice is given to inmates wether they have to work or not. It should not be. I say sure, you can watch TV, if you work. However, you are going to pay for your own TV, or someone who you know will send you one.

Sheriff Joe is doing the right thing for the wrong reasons. He is doing this to promote himself and welcomes the news media to his office at every opportunity to hype himself. He did buy green bolonga, and only saved a few dollars on the deal, but really put the spotlight on himself... I don't hear any bleeding hearts whining in Arizonia, I do hear the Cons though. Sheriff Joe continues to be re-elected.

Here in the great state of Colo our Governer (Rep) pulled for the closing of a VA hospital and then made it a old age home for convicts! This was Ft Lyons and has many Vets buried on the property. All of them rolling in their graves!

No guys, I am not against punnishing the guilty, just against the death penalty. I don't think it works, it puts this nation in a bad light, and is against one the ten comandments. (You know, the ones I carry in the back of my truck. )

My biggest problem with the death penalty is the chances of someone being wrongly convicted. I don't know how often this happens, but I'd think that one innocent person being executed would be enough for me - I'd rather see ALL convicts currently in prison be set free than 1 innocent person executed. Besides, with the 8th Amendment's stricture against imposing cruel and unusual punishment, could an execution REALLY be made painful and long enough for the criminal to have enough time to truly suffer for what he did? And I think that amending the Constitution to allow torturous deaths is a dangerous game - do we really trust our elected officials NOT to amend away our other rights? Just look what they've done to the right to keep and bear arms, right to privacy in your person, belongings, and dwelling, right to confront those accusing you, etc.

What I'd like to see would be true life sentences, where the criminal went in and didn't come out till he was dead of old age - and they'd do their best to keep them alive for a LONG time. That way, if the wrong person was convicted and the error discovered, he'd still be alive to be released and reparations made, not that you can really repay someone for years of their life taken away. Inside the prison, conditions would be such that all inside felt total and utter despair during every waking moment. They wouldn't be allowed to kill themselves, though, because that'd be the easy way out. Moreover, when they're close to death, no administration of religious rites of forgiveness would be permitted - they'd better hope the god they believe in will accept them if they're truly remorseful, because they won't get any help while they're alive! If the body has to be buried in a special manner, or if there are any special religious requirements for the dead, not only do they not get done but whatever's not supposed to be done IS done. For example, if a religion requires that a body be whole upon burial in order for the deceased to enter Paradise, then the body is dismembered and buried in separate graves.

Now, executions would still be performed for those who confessed to a crime, and those would be the model of simplicity. A "Place of Bones" is designated outside the prison, the condemned are marched out, made to kneel, and shot once in the back of the head. The body is left exposed for the scavengers, and that's all.
