when i bought my 2500 mega cab i had the dealer switch the 8 foot fisher off my 04. 5 2500 and reinstall on the mega cab. i figured before we get some snow i should attach the plow and make sure it works. WOW does this thing sag!!! i'm glad i checked because i dont think i could plow with it sagging as bad as it does! i'm going to order the plow springs from my *******. do any of you guys have the plow springs on your 2500 mega cab? if so anything i need to know about(poor ride)? i have a friend that is a mechanic at my dealer so he will install the springs. thanks in advance!... . james :D :(

one more thing. what do you guys do to control the plow when you have a manaual transmission? i have the hand held joystick. do they make controls that mount on the shifter? thanks.

That's an awful lotta weight for your front end... . I can virtually guarantee you are going to void your warranty with that setup. Check and make sure you're not going to be over your front GAWR. I'd replace the front springs with 3500 springs from a 2006 Quad Cab with snow plow prep. I also hope you're plowing in an area you don't have to back up much in!!! That's a lot of truck to plow with (my fave being a regular cab). Good luck!

they better not void my warantee! they installed it! no snow plow prep. i only plow my driveway and a small parking lot (10 cars) for my employees.

I wonder if you can fit airbags in the front bump stops, like you can in the rear. That way you can deflate when not plowing.

Why not get HD diesel coils from KORE or other suspension manufacture? They are WAY better than any "snow plow" prep coils from the dealer. I have a 300lb bumper hanging off the front of my truck and those coils don't even notice it.

Just my . 02

Try plowing with an F-350 6 man cab and long box... May as well mount a plow to the front of a school bus!

Hate to say it, but...

If it doesn't have plow prep on it, you're not supposed to put a plow on it. The dealer should have known better than that. I never put plows on vehicles that don't have plow prep unless the vehicle is out of warranty AND the customer understands that the vehicle is not supposed to have a plow installed. The decision is always left up to the customer. Plow prep never even was an option back in '06 on the Mega Cabs either, due to the weight being put over the front axle.

That's what we had in Alaska to plow with. That truck, a bobcat with a blower, plow or bucket, and also a 10k fork lift (same chassis as a front end loader). Also had a small blower.

At least you didn't have to worry too much about weight for traction... . :-laf Must've been a bear to back up or turn around with!!! One of the driveways I do is barely wide enough for my 8' blade plus I have to turn going uphill with it  . Welcome to the FUN ZONE!!! Oo. Oo. Oo.

I just had a 8. 5' wester V-plow put on my 06 2500 quad cab long bed and it didn't seem to sag that bad but it was kinda dark out when I picked it up tho and i took it off right away after I got it home. It drove fine on the way home but I think I might get different springs for the front and maybe some counter weight in the back. I planned on the truck sagging a bit in the front so I guess I was not too supprised with the little sag that I have.

No offense, but a 300 lb bumper and a 1000 lb plow are a big difference!

I put the skyjacker D25's in my 01 and went from hitting the bump stops when running over a blade of grass to never hitting the bump stops no matter what I hit. Counterweight will make a big difference also, that is a long truck and could really use at least 500 lb in the back or more but the D25's should take care of you problems.

skyjacker coils

could you guys provide me with the correct part numbers for the skyjacker coils? all it shows on their site is coils for a 3500. also could you recommend a ood place to buy these coils? thanks... james :D
