I was following Evan Beck back from Dyno Days on Saturday night (Evan has H. I. D. s in his conversion Sport headlights). To put it very mildly, he was pi$$ing off EVERY oncomining vehicle on the two lane highway as well as most he would overtake on the freeway (to either side of him). Were they aimed properly? I don't know however, I do know this... there was more than a legal amount of light being dispersed to the left side (i. e. , to approaching traffic) which seemed to match the amount of light being projected to the right. I would check the legality of the CONVERSION prior to spending the money for the H. I. D. Maybe the conversion was supposed to be used in non Sport headlights? On the plus side, when we were playing catch up to Mike and Evan on the freeway (we were several miles or so behind them at one point), we instantly saw where they were once we were on a straight stretch... Evan's Ram could EASILY be spotted by his headlights. . FROM BEHIND!

Make no bones about it, those bad boys throw a tremendous amount of light. I just "Don't want to be hassled by the man. "
Hey John, I hope you are happy in your new location.

I converted my '98. 5 Sport to the '99+ Sport headlights. I experienced increased lighting over my OE setup, especially when in the high beam mode. I also have PIAA Platinum Series Super White bulbs (9007 low beams/9004 high beams) along with the "special" Brite-Box that makes the conversion on '98. 5 and older Rams easier. If you own a '94 through '98. 5 Ram you will also have to remove a portion of the sheet metal adjacent to the OE headlight cutout. This was outlined (and illustrated) by Scott Dalgliesh in a past issue of the TDR.
John, the high beams are inboard of the low beams.
As for aesthetics of the Sport headlights, you will have to weigh that for yourself. I personally like the looks of the '99+ Sport headlights/turn signals MUCH better than the standard version. I don't know anyone that has seen the two (std. -vs- Sport) that like the looks and/or function of the standard lights better.
