If you put a 65hp Quadzilla tow box on a 05-07 truck will you reaction be , yeah that is nice, or will it be OH HECK YEAH!!! that is what this thing has needed all along!!
That box is 65 hp and 165 lb/ft of torque. I run my quad box (standard adjustable version) on the 60 hp 100 lb/ft setting and HECK YEAH! THAT IS WHAT THIS THING NEEDED! Spring for a CFM+ intake horn and the throttle response improves to... THIS THING RIPS!
I think you would be at a great place to stop with the Quad tow box, unless you are up for the sound of a muffler delete:-laf. I stopped where I did because I think much beyond a 100 hp upgrade leads to the need for much more expensive changes, like in your case a beefed 48re. Thats just too much $$$ for what I really need. The manual can take a little more but a clutch upgrade would be on my short list if I had much more power.
There are definately much more powerful trucks out there but I am really happy with mine as is now. These trucks were always powerful, with just a little more fuel, and a little more boost, it is almost stupid power in a pick-up truck, just my 2 cents.
I am happy with mine, it really brought the truck to life. Only pain was unlike lets say Edge, the Quad box has to be mounted in the cab. That was the only pain running the cable inside.
