I finally found a truck!!!! However, I think I read somewhere that if the truck had a sticker on the lower side of the drivers window. That it was inspected more twice? Please help, because that will help determine if I will purchase.

Thanks!
Frank

I was the one that posted the info. on the quality check. If the truck has gone through the factory quality check it will have a small, half round, multi-colored sticker on the lower rear portion of the driver side window denoting such.

My '00 3500 had the sticker on the glass and also had 22 miles on the odometer when it came off the rail car. The QC doors fit perfectly, but the dually fenders didn't match up to the pickup body real well. On my 97 3500 built in Mexico, the dually fenders fit perfectly.

I don't have any idea what they check on the Quality Check while driving those 22 miles. Maybe someone at the plant wanted to go into St Louis and get pizza and beer!!

If this is a clear sticker on the drivers window that has blue lettering then I'm not impressed with the check. I have had loose bolts and the paint has what would appear to be swirls and scuff marks under the clear coat. I also had 20+ miles on the OD when I took delivery. There was no quality check-off sheet with the other paperwork.

Bill and BV, my '98. 5 was built in the St. Louis North plant and went through the random quality check. As delivered my Ram had 26 miles on it. To amend what I previously stated; actually there were two stickers in the drivers window 1) the small half moon shaped sticker as I described in a previous post and 2) a clear 3. 5" x 5" sticker with white background surrounding the clear lettering stating the following: " This vehicle has been subjected to a Quality Assurance Test. An important part of our Quality Improvement Program is a daily review of vehicles as they roll off our assembly lines. Vehicles are selected at random by our Quality Engineering Department and tested to verify that the Quality of each vehicle meets the high standards that you expect. Each vehicle is driven not more than 65 miles/100 kilometers for evaluation under actual driving conditions. "

After further investigation into the paperwork delivered to me at the time of purchase I found I had two quality check off sheets. One was the convoy company's check list, the other was the pre-delivery check list by the dealer. As I remember, the only thing the dealer found that was not quite right was the automatic transmission gear selection indicator, which was expediently and properly adjusted while I waited. I could find no flaws with my Ram as delivered. BTW, that's the first time that has happened in ALL the new vehicles I've purchased. Usually there has been a 2-10 trip debugging process I've had to live through with each new vehicle. Needless to say, I was very satisfied with this buying experience.

I have a St. Louis built truck. It did not go through any extra quality checks as would be indicated by stickers or mileage. My truck had 10 miles on it, likely put there by the dealer in a test drive to get fuel. I have had no problems with my truck except front shocks. These began to rattle at about 3500 miles. The dealer replaced them with no fuss at all. I have no complaints with fit and finish, and the truck drives very well.

I guess its all in the luck of the draw?

Based on a random sampling at several different Dodge dealers over a period of a year, It appeared to me that about 1 in 25 Rams goes through the random quality check. Although, this was not a real scientific study, I still believe I'm in the ballpark (this was based on number of 1500, 2500 and 3500 Rams in all configurations that were ready for sale at the given time I took a sampling divided by the number of Rams exhibiting the quality check sticker in the window).
