Okay, now that the Power Pack is working, I gotta get those EGT's down. I currently have a 4" straight pipe turning out in front of the rear tire (WAY LOUD!), the Banks turbo housing, Banks High Ram, and stock box/ K&N. I plan on going to the Psycotty box, but don't know what else I can do? How much lower will the pre turbo EGT's be with the psycotty?
My rig runs about 34-36psi at WOT but it isn't long at all till I hit 1350 and the Ottomind cuts me back to about 28psi (with less fuel) which will hold it steady at 1300 (pre turbo) Oddly enough my pre and post turbo numbers vary anywhere from 25 to 700 degrees different from each other.

Jerry, I took mine for a ride this afternoon up one of our steeper grades (17%). Unloaded, and making 40 psi's boost, my pre-turbo egt's were 1050F. My max egts, with only the EZ were around the same number and I reached it faster before the Pyscotty Air went in. I also have stage III injectors now so I think you will find a big difference with the PSA alone. Besides lowering the egts, it sounds way #ad

Jerry i made my own aluminum version of psycotty air but before it was finished i ran for about a week with the filter just laying on the fender. it took 150F off with it like that and once the tube was finished and ran through the firewall it took another 25 to 50F off.

mine is still stock with exception to the exhaust so it would have to help more, on a hotter setup like yours.

The psycotty will help but I think if you really want to lower your EGT you are going to need a bigger turbo.

Here is some actual testing I did last summer... ... .

EGT test using different air filters and configurations hauling cattle up a 5 ½ % grade 5. 6 miles long, two cows at a time. Tried to visually load cows so that the weight was the same. Outside temp (o/s) taken off in cab gauge. Cruise set at 65 MPH in 5th. EGT reading at the top of grade.

W/ stock housing and new paper filter (Fram) o/s 74 Deg EGT 1200+
with about one mile left had to kick the cruise off, down shift to 4th, and slow to 60 MPH to keep the EGT under 1200.

W/ stock housing and K&N filter o/s 78 Deg EGT 1100

W/ Open RE-0880 K&N filter o/s 80 Deg EGT 1050

W/ Psycotty housing w/ insulation tape and RE-0880 filter o/s 84 Deg EGT 900 - 925

There is also a big seat of the pants difference between the paper filter and a K&N in the Psychotty housing. The engine just feels freer to run with the bigger filter and the Psychotty housing.
