Can you reuse the card/fiber gasket that comes with the Mag-Hytec double deep trans pan?

And if it's a no on the Mag-Hytec gasket, can you use the stock pan gasket with the double deep pan?

It seems like it would be just fine reusing the Mag-Hytec gasket or using the stock gasket, but just thought I'd double check

According to a technical person at MH...

If you oiled both sides of their fiber gasket with ATF prior to installation, you should be able to reuse it. If you didn't oil both sides, its possible that the fiber gasket may stick to the trans case or pan flange and be ruined.

MH doesn't recommend using the stock overmolded gasket with their pans, but I'm not sure I believe them. When I questioned why, I didn't get a real answer except that they have heard about leaks with the stock gasket.

There are many, many users on this website that have used the stock gasket w/o any issues and IMO it seems to be higher quality than the MH fiber gasket.

Hope this helps,

Louis

I want to say I reused the stock gasket when I replaced my pan. I don't really remember without going through the old box, but I know for certain that whatever I used doesn't leak.

I guess my post is useless but for the fact it doesn't leak!! :D

OE gasket and no leaks here. Never heard of or seen a paper/card gasket that was serviceable enough to reuse.

I went with the original stock gasket and everything looks good, no leaks.

P. S. Don't know why I thought I had the Mag-Hytek, I actually have the ATS double deep pan, duh.
