I am wanting to know if the spring kit will add power at low rpm, say from 1300 to 2000 rpm? I'm not at all interested in going to 3 - 4000 rpm {unless theres a furd or chebby next to me} but wonder if they will help in just going through the gears in traffic?

Thanks----Michael

Gov springs

They will definatley wake up your low end, although not as much as a good fuel plate. They make the govenor much more responsive. The 3000 rpm springs would do well in your 94 truck due to the early defueling the 94-95 trucks have:D

Got home last night, and had a little time to put the 215 Injectors in I odered from Piers. I had a hell of a time pulling out the old ones, because I didn't have a slide hammer puller. I worked them loose, & by sheer, brute strength, pulled them out of the head with a big pair of vise grips & some penetrating fluid.

Got the new ones put in, took it for a spin, & decided all was good, so came home & went to bed with a smile on my face. This morning, I decided I had time to put in the 3k spring kit I ordered too, and was done by 10am. Took it down the road, & was amazed how much difference they made. The 215 injectors woke it up, but the spring kit set it free. It's more like a corvette now than a 3 ton pick up. I was getting 278 HP to the floor before, I bet we're somewhere in the 3's now. The 230 HP TST plate is slid forward just a tad, and the transmission is still stock at 155k, I can tell you now, it will have to be babied from now on.

Another happy Piers' GSK owner... ...

And you all thought I was crazy for tring to start a crusade... ... every P7100 pump on Earth needs these springs!!! :D

Matt

O-K guys, you got me convinced. Now you can tell me about how much HP I'm putting out. Don't have a dyno in town so it may be awhile before I can get it done.

M Barnett, I have a #4 in the stock position(about the same as a #8 full forward) according to EGT's and made 292/680 last weekend.

Gov springs are too cool. I rev mine to 4K plus daily.

Still trying to blow the thing up and it wont happen.

4300rpm or so is sweet. Growls like lion up there.

MBarnett, next time you pull the injectors, cut a small piece of EMT or conduit to slip over the top of the nozzle body just slightly shorter than the injector threads and use a 14x1. 5mm nut to thread onto the nozzle bodies. As you tighten the nut down to the conduit, the injector will be pulled loose from its bore.

No goofy and hard to use on #6 slide hammer needed.

JFulmer: Sounds like I must be close to the 300 mark, now lets see, wonder what turbo---

Don M, that sounds like a good idea. I had to make a slide puller for 5 and 6 when I changed them.

I just put in my 3000 gov springs. All i can say is wow!! Now you have power in your higher rpm's. Mine is not adjusted right yet i have to turn down the idel. I am at about 1000.

DR,

There probably wouldn't be any measurable increase in hp on a dyno. It is just that the overall drivability is so much better and the power that you already have does not end at around 23-2500 rpm. Previously, towing up a certain hill, I could only hit 52 mph with O/D off before the truck felt "flat". Now it will hit 62 mph with no drop off in power. Also your low end will feel stronger too.

I agree with Koa Man. Probably not a much of a measurable difference. It just greatly improves your powerband.

What helped mine was doing Piers's "secret" rocker arm adjustment. Wheee-haaaa!

DR: I would have to agree with Koa man. It just brodens the rpm band. In tun it makes it fun to drive.

Bighammer: Yes i would get another set. It is a 125 well spent.

I'll put it in for you;)

Guy's with auto's when you are cruzing at about 60 to 70 and you mash on it do you have a laall at all. When i step on it from a dead stop it runs like it used to boost is up to 32 psi. wen i step on it from 60-70 if only gives about 22psi then it will rise to 32psi. Is this normal or do i have to adjust it. It is also idealing at about 1,000 which i can fix with out going back in but if i have to i'll just do it.
