I'm planning to tow a heavy 5th wheel with this truck:

2019 RAM 3500 MegaCab - Longhorn - DUAL Rear Wheel - 6’4” Box
H.O. Cummins 1000 ft lb torque, Aisin Transmission

Here are my truck's capacities:

Axle Ratio: 4.10
GVWR 14,000 lbs
Curb Weight: 8,978 lbs
Max Payload: 5,022 lbs (weight of passengers, cargo, & 5th wheel pin weight)
Est Curb Wt Front: 5,207 lbs. (58%)
Est Curb Wt Rear: 3,771 lbs. (42%)

GAWR Front 6,000 lbs
GAWR Rear 9,750 lbs

Tire Wt Rating 3,085 lbs. single or 2,835 lbs dual

GCWR 43,000 lbs
Max Trailer WR 35,100 lbs

Base Wt TOTAL 7,430 lbs.
Base Wt Front 4,324 lbs (58%)
Base Wt Rear 3,106 lbs (42%)

Does the tire rating mean that EACH of the FOUR rear tires are rated at 2,835 lbs., for a total capacity of 11,340 lbs for the FOUR rear tires, combined? (Thus, my rear tire's weight capacity exceeds my rear axle capacity?)

Do these numbers indicate that my estimated available cargo capacity on rear axle is about 5,979 lbs. (Rear GAWR of 9,750 - Est curb wt rear of 3,771 = approx. 5,979 lbs.)

Yes your rear tires are rated for more than the axle. What the weakest link on a 3500 is...well that’s anyone’s guess. I wouldn’t recommend going over RAWR.

RAWR should be 9,750, not 9,650.

You should have plenty of capacity for a heavy 5th wheel.

Did you get the 5th wheel prep package?

I tow a 24k Mobile Suites with truck in my signature. I run full RAWR AND BEYOND with zero issues.

is there a reason for the MegaCab?

where is the Factory Rear Air Ride?

What RV are you planning to tow?

Yes, you're right. The RAWR is 9,750.

We did get the factory pucks, if that's what you mean? And also auto leveling rear air package.

Reason? We like it. We like the extra space for the dogs, and for stuff.

Where is the Factory Rear Air Ride?

Apparently, it is located somewhere in the rear suspension area of the truck. Put there when built at the RAM factory. With a operating switch in the dash of the truck. It provides auto-rear-leveling when there is a load on the bed.

What RV are you planning to tow?

DRV Mobile Suites 38 RSSA.

When I asked you had NOT mentioned the rear air ride. I have it and love it for 5 years now.

As I mentioned on the two other RV sites you are on get the B&W hitch!
