I was always on the fence about these drain valves. Then I started working at a new shop and several customers have these on their OTR trucks. An oil drain valve on a Pete sits quite a bit lower than my 4x4 ram and these guys have a few more million miles than I. There is nothing better than not having to pull a drain plug with 10 gallons of hot oil behind it.

I still watch for them jumping road gators though. ;)

Question? Whats wrong with the stock drain plug? The only problem I had was with my "97". When you pulled that plug all 13 qts came out in about 10 sec. The "04" drains real nice.

I drain my oil hot... having burning oil running down my arm isn't my idea of pleasurable... plus, there's no splashing either.

Steved;Makes sense to me. I drain mine cold after the oil has a chance to completely drain into the pan. Probably is a little thicker when cold and doesn't splash. Use a rubber glove to keep oil off my hands. Bill

finger touch

Hello,All three of my dodges have a finger touch drains ! Over 300,000 miles not a drop leaked. Hot oil drained into used milk jugs with no mess! Great idea!
