Banks Hi-RAM intake today

J.r. Adkins Lil 55 (wow)

I have read on another site that it comes assembled, pre-drilled/tapped for a pyrometer and at a lower price to boot. . I don't see it on their site, but it came from a good source.

I should have took pictures of the port job on my ATS so you guys could see the difference, allot nicer and smother transistion.

Was the ATS was better or not as good on the two that you have compared?

If you go to there website and clik on "diesel performance", then "Dodge", then "exhaust manifolds" you go right to it and it lists that they come assembled, tapped, and the price. Jake

As I see it, it would cost more then I paid for my ATS (it came with the HPC coating and complete mounting kit) if you ordered this one with the coating and complete mounting kit, it would cost $585. 00, plus shipping.

I am currently running the Quickspool on my truck. Mine was $200 less than the ATS that I had and I like it better. The machining seems to be a little better on the High Tech manifold as well.

I have my turbo off now getting it JetHot coated. Would it be worth the money to buy one of these for perf reasons? I know the stocker can crack but other than that, do these really buy you anything or is this like spending money on a pretty Banks HighRam?

I have seen too many stock ones crack to justify spending any money on another stock one. As for coating, my opinoin is that it is a manifold and not many see it under my hood. So I didn't have mine done.

I had a long talk with the sales guy from HTT at May Madness. He made a point of showing me how their manifold ports were smoothed and polished. I didn't grab it off the table and put it up against an ATS, but it certainly looked like finished work. They had a pricelist with their brochure, $415 for the manifold, $45 for the accesory kit (don't know what that is, but I guess I'd be hoping for bolts and gasket). I think he said the coating was another $150, but I didn't like the look of it - no rust or heat discoloration :D One more thing, the manifold was tapped for two (count 'em 2) EGT probes. I specifically asked if they came with plugs for those of us who might only be sporting one EGT gauge - yes. I don't mean to sound like an advertisement, don't own their products. But they've been in the turbo business for a long time and I got a good feeling about their expertise.

Cheers,

Neil

Hi, just to disclose up front I work for High Tech. This is not a sale pitch, I just wanted to make it clear about our manifold. Boondocker quoted the prices correctly. 1st gen manifolds comes with 12-new mounting bolts (they are shorter than stock and need to be replaced). On 2nd and 3rd gen, only the 2-top center bolts need to be replaced, and they are included w/manifold. Accessory kit includes turbo mounting gasket, turbo drain gasket, 6-exh manifold mounting gaskets, 2-studs, 2-nuts, 2-bolts to mount turbo to manifold.

Hope this helps. ET

I was trying to clear it up and didn't do a very good job, sorry. At this time we're only offering the 3-piece manifold. A few people have used it on 3rd gen to reposition the turbo to make a little extra room for twins. ET

ET, On your site, I didn't see a manifold for the 3rd Gen. trucks, are they out yet?

I'll try and answer (3) questions here.

1. To Luke Warwater: We have HPC (High Performance Coatings) coat our manifolds. You can read about it on their site. http://www.hpcoatings.com

2. To Cooker: It cost us $120 to do this, we have to take it out there and pick them up, hence the $150 extra. As to the question "is it worth it"; not to me, but it is to others. You will have to check the site out and see if it is for you. I might add it sure looks nice.

3. To Elite1: Like I said before, sorry I mis-stated, some people have used this manifold when they needed more room mounting twins. ET
