Raced a new cheby SS this morning. . Comeing to work on I10 East bound into Houston... Started at around 75Mph and ended at about 100mph. . He started to leave me like I thought he would but he didnt leave me as fast as I thought. . About half a mile from where we started he was 4 car links in front of me... If I had a TST I would have smoked him I believe... Just thought I would share that with you...

Makes a lot of sense to have to keep up with traffic if there's no one on the road

Ummm... . yeah, right. I can't count the times I've run out US290 at 100 MPH. :(

Quit crucifying the guy. A lot of y'all race on the road all the time. I agree with his statement that 100 MPH on US290 isn't that insane. I see people driving much faster than that on shoulders and cutting through traffic. If the roads were reletively clear and he had a shot more power to him. After all it IS his ticket.

Besides whats the point of haveing all these expensive goodies and not stretch her legs up to higher speeds sometimes... .

3 people killed in Houston last night. 2 ricers racing - 1 went out of control, over a median and slammed into a Suburban. The driver of the ricer and 2 people minding their own business in the Suburban were killed - 1 in the Suburban is still alive, but I don't know for how long.

If stuff like this only affected you (i. e. , hey, it's his ticket), that would be one thing. Unfortunately, other people sometimes wind up getting killed. My family and I use the roads, too, so it IS my business.

Like I said 3 lanes wide open... You are very correct about innocent people getting killed it is tragic. . I do drive carefully and with respect of other drivers... You dont have to preach to me about car accidents, for I am a Firefighter/Paramedic. Most of these accidents happen because of young 16 year old drivers not knowing when to say when sometimes they just wont give up... I would have never done what I done if there was other drivers on the road... I am very sorry if I offended some one. .

You didn't offend everyone:D been there done that can you say( I-35 downtown) early a. m. nuff said, Hope you at least skeered him. :--)

Well back to the topic at hand... You would have spanked him with a tst :D:D:D While you turned the front of his truck black from smoke coming from your 5" flomaster exhaust :D What level where you running your Edge?

Would be nice to how you would have done from a standing start.

Off the line my "slightly modified" 96 CTD was able to keep the lead against my brothers 96 Impala SS. The Impala is no sloth either, headers, chips, flowmasters, no cats, so I was pretty impressed with how well the CTD smoked him off the line.

More ways than one:D :--)

Oh well we all JUST KNOW how much more dangerous 100 is over 80 right????????

Give the guy a break. You guys chastizing him are going to get in your truck and drive 80mph home in a 65-70 zone feeling all uppity up because..... you're not going 90? Hypocrites.

Unless you don't speed AT ALL, you have nothing to say. 80, 90, or 100 really don't mean squat... Here in Michigan you'll get PASSED at 90. Moral of the story, stay on the side roads.

I would like to see what you guys who keep saying "give the guy a break" would say if someone you cared about was injured or killed by someone racing on the street. Let me give you a hint you would not be saying "give the guy a break" If it has happened to you you may have a slightly different persepctive of racing on the street.

Pretty strong words, there, partner... . If you think 71 in a 70 is the same as 100 in a 70, you're showing (1. ) your lack of understanding of kinetic energy and (2. ) your ignorance of the law. You might want to compare the legal penalties for 1 over versus 30 over. At least here in Texas, the DPS certainly has no problem differentiating between these 2 scenarios!
