Oh yeh getting back to winter fronts the Mopar or Geno's version are IMHO the better style as you can open or close at will, compared to grille inserts. Shad
I agree the fabric style winterfronts are more versatile, but not because they open and close at will, because the inserts also provide this feature. I am looking at a storm scenario with deep snow, the inserts would allow snow to pack around and into the radiator from under the bumper, where as the fabric would provide better protection, and easier to clean the snow out if it did.

I have only had this happen once, and it was with my Ford Bronco. The radiator and engine compartment were so clogged full of snow that the motor finally lost power and would barely run. I-94 west of Mandan, ND in January, no fun.

By the way, diesle4life, I was going to comment on your "blockers" nice work, I thought it was something you bought, in the pictures the craftsmanship looks pretty good. Actually the first type of grille blocker I bought was the kind that attached like yours. It was so long ago, I can't even remember when I found them. I think yours look better than the ones I bought. They were so cheaply made, and I didn't like the way the attached, that I never installed them, sent them back.

Thank you for the compliment. If you look closely you can easily tell they were cut and ground down rather than plasma cut. I just took my time with the ol metabo, the stainless was some leftover from a fuel tank/storage box i fabbed for a friend a few yrs ago for his frankenstein shortened school bus chassis/ dt 466 with a 94 chevy cab and a flatbed :-laf. Thats what ya get when ya live in the country with nothin to do in the evenings
